Report of my first 4000 miles on a CCS (also my first 5 months of owning it)

IIRC, Tora had said that there are different regulations regarding bikes over 60V, thus he has no current plans to build them. Individuals building and modding bikes typically ignore the regulations or don't know they even exist. A bike maker does not have that luxury.

Report of my first 4000 miles on a CCS (also my first 5 months of owning it)

So I am basing this observation on the real time wattage reading. Amps are also displayed in real time. I don't know why you don't trust this reading. Based on my experience thus far, it seems very accurate. When I am travelling at lower speeds and use higher levels of assist, I will see...

Juiced RipCurrent S cassette upgrade question

Well I learned this morning with a full battery that 9th gear is useful, gotta love going 35+ on a bike.:D

Report of my first 4000 miles on a CCS (also my first 5 months of owning it)

So I thought I'd give an update on my first 4 weeks of ownership, which happened to coincide with crossing the 1000 mile threshold; total now is 1036 miles. The CCS really is a great bike. It rides very smooth and solid. It was clearly designed and purpose built to be exactly what I wanted; a...

    Detailed Ride Report - Distance/Battery

I did a 40 mile casual ride with family a week ago. My son rode the CCS for the first 20 miles all in Eco, and I rode home in Eco. I had only charge to 80%, which is 55.4V and at the end of the ride had 52V which is still 60% battery; granted this was a slow ride, but still, I could make it over...

Less than full PSI on tires?

Converting to a tubeless setup is always an option. I did this about 10 days ago on my Juiced CrossCurrent S. This allows you to run lower pressures without the worry of pinch flats. Its also inherently lower resistance than a tubed tire. This way you can set pressure to your preference for...

Juiced RipCurrent S cassette upgrade question

I actually need 1st gear on occasion. One of the routes I take on my ride into work has a hill that peaks at 16% grade. Its not particularly long, maybe 500 yards, but it still slows the CCS down to about 11-12 mph even in S mode. Still beats my road bike where I was going about 5-6 mph along...

    Commute Speed

Aero is the biggest issue you encounter at high speeds on all bikes. The poser needed to increase speed grows exponentially above 20 mph. I used to commute on a road bike, and one of the first things I noticed was the wind on my chest on the more upright Juiced bike. The CCS is designed as a...

Juiced RipCurrent S cassette upgrade question

Based on my experience with my CCS higher gearing would be a complete waste on these bikes. The current gearing has me pedalling comfortably in 8th gear up to around ~32 mph, the bike won't provide assistance above ~33.5 mph. When I shift into 9th (52T chainring/ 11T cassette) the pedal cadence...

    Detailed Ride Report - Distance/Battery

IIRC the bike controller default cutoff is 41V. In the advanced settings menu you can manually adjust this up to a max of 43V.

    Commute Speed

So I used to commute on my road bike for my 30 mile one way commute. This generally took about 1h 50 minutes each way, (wind direction and force biggest factor determining average speed, mostly averaged 15-18 mph). I am now commuting on a Juiced CrossCurrent S pedelec 3, (i bought the 52V 21Ah...

Why Juiced Should Consider Making a "Moped"

So I do long distance high speed commuting on my CCS. I ride most of the time in level 2 traveling 24-30 mph depending on slope, wind, etc. I would preferentially ride in level 3 more often, but the minor increase in speed is not worth the extra power consumed. I use level 3 to help achieve...

    Looking for Wisconsin commuter

I converted my CCS to tubeless btw to minimize flats. The stock Kenda tires worked fine. The tread is pretty thick and well groved, I would think they would stand up to gravel paths fine.

    Looking for Wisconsin commuter

Okay, I'll play. I commute 30 miles each way to work. I have been doing this intermittently on my road bike for years. Finally got tired of fighting the wind and started researching ebikes. I researched for about 5 months before finally ordering. I finally decided on the Juiced CrossCurrent S...

    Guidelines for Safe Motor Temperature?

Probably why Juiced put the display temp as the controller temp not the motor. Thanks everyone for the good info.

    Price increase at Juiced Bikes

So I went to the Juiced site out of curiosity. The CCS can no longer be ordered with the 52V battery. I am guessing the supply limitations forced them to divert to RCS only. Makes me so happy I ordered when I did. I certainly love the big battery, the 19.2Ah would do the job I need, just would...

    Guidelines for Safe Motor Temperature?

Bruce, I'm curious where you read this quote? Based on that seeing temps below 150C are unlikely to create any thermal damage on our bikes????

How Much Cardio Can You Get From Electric Bikes?

Well I thought I'd provide a different perspective on the ebikes related to exercise. Today while commuting home from work, I was fighting a ~20 mph headwind the entire way home for 30 miles. I would never have even bothered trying to ride home on my road bike in those conditions, I would've...

    Battery supply problems

These are really only useful for carrying things like a frame pump anyway. Juiced kinda missed the mark with adding these to the frame, with the base battery a few people can fit a small bottle in, the large batteries already make it impossible. I would honestly rather see Juiced design a...

    Need some help/advice from experts

How are you using this bike? Are you riding trails, commuting on roads, mix??? This should affect your decision on many factors in converting. If you plan on lower speed trail riding with steep climbs, then a mid-drive like the Luna kit above is a great choice. If you are commuting on pavement...
