Turbo Vado SL 4.0 Wheel Durability

This is an interesting subject. I noticed when my LBS was checking the wheels he was squeezing the spokes in pairs and then went around with a tool. Can an end user tighten spokes without using/needing a truing stand? I am a heavy rider so keeping my spokes in good order is important. Any...

Turbo Vado SL 4.0 Wheel Durability

I asked my LBS to check the spokes on my Vado 5.0 and they said they found no issues. It could be your wheels got a knock in transit.

Has anyone ridden both a Vado 4.0 and a Vado 5.0 and can compare?

I have not bashed him, or questioned your judgement. Sorry, what is a "snow job"? Not sure what you are expecting from your new bike...:D

Vado 5 IGH battery fit issue

No play at all in my Vado 5.0 battery mounting.

Has anyone ridden both a Vado 4.0 and a Vado 5.0 and can compare?

I have no interest in talking to somebody called Rene, as I said as long as your happy that's all the matters. One thing you may not have considered is any load you may be carrying. A grocery shop for example can be very heavy and if you have to go uphill the more torque you have the better.

She is talking about a man at the end of the phone not her LBS, come on pay attention old man :)

"imperceptible (Specialized word)" Come on, they want to sell you what they have in stock! As long as your happy that's all that matters.

Has anyone ridden both a Vado 4.0 and a Vado 5.0 and can compare?

Also factoring in you are buying two bikes I can see why you went the 4.0 route. The 4.0 is an excellent bike you will not be disappointed, when is the delivery day?

Has anyone ridden both a Vado 4.0 and a Vado 5.0 and can compare?

Define big? In my region the 5.0 was only $400 more so well worth it for the uplift in spec.

If you have the funds get the 5.0, also the bigger motor makes a difference if you are a heavy rider. Other then that I concur with Stefan's comments above.

Vado 5.0 vs. Priority Current vs. Bluejay Sport

New Vado 5.0 (L) owner here, very happy with my bike, I went for Chain over IGH and do not regret my choice.

Well, I went ahead and ordered the Vado 5.0 IGH

I went for the 5.0 over the 4.0 for the following reasons:- More powerful motor (I'm a heavy rider) Better front fork Better brakes. (Very important on a heavy bike) Rear Radar The feature that surprised me the most was the radar on the rear of the 5.0, it has saved me a few times from nutcase...

If It Wasn’t for Bad Luck You Wouldn’t Have Any Luck At All! Seriously, that is not good. I hope it's not as bad as it sounds.

The Tero X 6.0 looks great, for me I did not want the whole rear suspension MTB vibe so went a different route. Are you sure you want to buy Specialized again? I have a feeling your current LBS may decline your custom going forward.

I should have mentioned all my old steel bikes were custom made for me, it is the only way to guarantee a perfect fit and ride. I would love to get a custom electric bike made but there is no one in the UK offering this service, hence I went with the 2022 Vado 5.0.

The 2022 Vado 5.0 comes with 32h, I am going to see how they go but I will probably add a custom wheel set.
