    Shock Stop Seatpost Finally Here

Well, I did not get a chance to take that ride today. I'll try again tomorrow. I am as anxious as you are, Duke, but you shouldn't take your dates to McDonalds. :p:p:p

    Shock Stop Seatpost Finally Here

They all seem to operate in a similar fashion and are all adjustable. The main difference I see is in the spring arrangement and number of springs. Some have external springs, this one has internal spring(s). I like that better for protection from the elements. I don't know about other brands...

    Shock Stop Seatpost Finally Here

After waiting almost 1 1/2 years, my seatpost has arrived. Being a Kickstarter project, I can't complain too much because the folks at Redshift sent many progress reports along the way. As it turns out, it was worth the wait. The seat post came attractively packaged, solidly and securely so...

    Anyone Ever Crunch a Squirrel?

My wife and I don't ride too fast (12-15mph) so it's not hard to avoid rodents running across the street or trail. I have yelled at squirrels at times and they usually make an abrupt U-turn. One speedy chipmunk actually raced across the street, ran between her tires and kept going. She was doing...

It’s 2025 what does your ebike look like?

Our bikes are used strictly for exercise and fun. We sometimes take trail rides that are 5-15 miles from home. The roads to get to them are not safe enough to ride on. I have to mount and dismount two fairly heavy bikes twice for each trip.

It’s 2025 what does your ebike look like?

For me, the weight has nothing to do with riding. It's about the struggle to mount my 56 lb. bike on the vehicle's rack. As a comparison, my kit bike weighs at least 20 lbs. less and is much easier to lift. I'll gladly pay more for lighter weight.

    Lighter, not heavier. ⚖

Looking for e-bike rentals in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida next month (November), any recommendations?

I'm nowhere near there, but here's a link to bike shops there...

Turn Your Bike Into an Electric Bike

Thumb throttle is definitely easier on your wrists, but if you get a twist throttle and don't like it the 1859 Northwest twist-to-thumb throttle adapter works very well. I bought one last year. 👍 https://1859-northwest.myshopify.com/products/e-bike-thumb-throttle-attachment

    Suspension Seat Posts

INEFA's Shock Stop seatpost is definitely a scam. I'm still waiting for mine from Redshift, who has been emailing updates from the beginning. They are supposedly shipping now, but not for $39.

    Galaxy 24

I guess the program is still going, but I haven't heard from them in two years, probably because my bike is now too old and has been replaced by newer models.

    Galaxy 24

I am/was supposedly an ambassador for Evelo. Over the first two years in the program, they referred two potential customers to me for a test ride. The first one never showed up and the second one never set an appointment, despite my attempt to contact him. I'm sure they had many other similar...

    Galaxy 24

I don't own a Galaxy, but they have many desirable features. Evelo used to sell a 26" model, which I would have probably bought if they hadn't discontinued it. There is a page on their website where you can input your zip code and see if there is a bike available for testing near you. I entered...

    Redwood Rail Bikes

Rail bikes are fun. We have them here, and we have ridden them twice, but the Redwood trail probably beats us somewhat for scenic views. :)

    2,000 EUR electric car

It’s not! If you’re driving any small vehicle in the traffic lane you’re taking your chances. 😧

    2,000 EUR electric car

Interesting vehicles, but considering the way people drive in the U.S., I wouldn’t want to be on the road with them in one of those.

    BIKE COVERS

Some covers will block your taillights and license plate, which could earn you a summons. I believe clear ones are available.

How heavy is your eBike, and do you care?

The front is the light end of the bike, so it is easier to set the rear onto the supports first in order to ease the pull in my back, but I have tried both methods.

How heavy is your eBike, and do you care?

My Aurora weighs about 57 lbs. w/o the battery. That makes it very difficult to raise it up and get it into position on the rack while the front wheel is trying to turn any way but straight. The Mongoose, on the other hand, weighs around 35 lbs. w/o battery and is much easier to deal with. When...

    Converting old Raleigh 3 speed

If you have hills, a 250w motor will strain quite a bit and when you downshift the 3-speed your speed will decrease dramatically. No problem on level roads.
