Hey Felix: at $300 most people could buy an extra battery... a good slow charge is what you want for longevity ..trickle fast charge is nice when one battery pack is all you own...I don't recommend.. it does not matter the style of pack, lead acid./lipo/lifepo4 batteries all like slow charges...
