regulations will come and go as they do with any other form of transportation, but it's not like the cops are going to come knocking on your door out of nowhere to confiscate your things. at the end of the day more people getting interested in alternative forms of transportation is a good thing imo.

most shops out here are "licensed" to work on a handful of brands. there's shops for van moof, gazelle, RAD, etc. you just look for the little sign in the window when you walk past. most of them will handle the normal bike bits of something they aren't licensed for (brakes, tires, shifter, etc.)...

schoolkids even get picked up by their teachers in big cargo bikes here in NL. i also see plenty of occasions where a mom on a regular bike will just drop the kid on a cargo rack on the front of a bike and tell them to hold on lol. with an experienced rider it's really not a big deal...

after trying a plethora of chains i landed on the kmc e1. it fits no grinding or anything and is a proper single speed so should be plenty durable enough (i would hope for how much i paid for it). tried a z1 narrow but it didn't like the lekkie. silly problem to have but got there in the end...
