Re-greasing the Ultra motor...is it time?

I have a new motor, purchased 2023. I did not check the number of teeth on the gear, so I do not know if I have have the 15 tooth version. I also greased it with cornhead. It is tons quieter as I said, but I had not greased my old motor with cornhead, so it is hard to compare. I have noticed...

Re-greasing the Ultra motor...is it time?

Any thoughts on it vs corn head (temperature, datasheet performance)? I put corn head in my new motor as I saw that listed in the forum. Did not pack it super tight as someone criticized another poster for doing that (though I am slightly worried not packing will allow the grease to be flung...

UC Pro Bafang UART motor failure

Got the new motor mount, works. So I am guessing it was the control board that failed on the old motor after all. I have a new control board I will put on the old motor and test at some point.

UC Pro Bafang UART motor failure

Well I finally have the motor disassembled, it was nearly impossible to get the that 16 tooth ring off and I ordered a terrible new tool for it. Disappointingly I can see nothing wrong with the controller boards, so now I have no idea what could be possibly wrong. I have not noticed any loose...

UC Pro Bafang UART motor failure

I did more testing, and while the motor does turn over with the use of the throttle, it is very very weak. Changing assist levels does nothing. I am guessing more than the torque sensor has gone wrong. Otherwise spent the weekend on house electrical work so I have (STILL) not yet dropped and...

UC Pro Bafang UART motor failure

Oh man! I did not see that the bolts have nuts under a cover on the left side! I just loosened from the right side, I bet its just the nut spinning, that is exciting.

UC Pro Bafang UART motor failure

First bolt I tried to remove to drop motor snapped. Any tips on how to prevent this? Any tips on fixing? (not sure where it is broken at this point)

UC Pro Bafang UART motor failure

GBK is frustrating me because their website was not working. I finally got it to work and selected fast shipping and now they say they are on holiday and will not ship for more than a week. Entirely defeating the point to paying for speeding shipping

UC Pro Bafang UART motor failure

Thanks, that is good to know. I am frustrated with the very very long delivery times for parts. Pretty inconvenient for a main method of transportation. Makes more sense now that some of you have multiple motors.

UC Pro Bafang UART motor failure

My Bafang m620 52v just failed, around 6180 miles. It just stopped providing assist on a hill, the motor make faint sounds like its starting up when I pedal but nothing more. I did find that walk mode works and when I got home an attached it the throttle works. The speedo work and turning the...

How big a market for step through?

Handling is something to keep in mind, though I am not sure how much it plays into things with lower speed less experienced riders. I certainly have noticed that on step though frames the feel of the bike tends to beach cruiser, hates high speed and manuvering. I found that to be unnerving. In...

Looking to place an order on an Ultimate Commuter Pro - brakes?

No idea about the Dominion's, but I am satisfied with the mt5s. I do have two minor gripes, I think the pads are heavily overpriced, best price I could get them for was 33 for a single set. That near car brake pad price, seems a bit much to me. Other thing is that I have noticed that towards...

Got my first flat on my Ultimate Commuter Pro

I have taken it off a couple of times. It's a a bit of a bear, particularly getting it back on as getting everything lined up is a challenge with how heavy the bike is, still wouldn't hire it out, it's a good thing to know how to do. I recommend an assistant or having a stand that allows...

Any interest in a Bosch based Ultimate Commuter Pro ?

This all makes me a bit sad and wish I had this magical new controller! Glad to see progress though!

Full suspension with Belt drive - why ?

So I don't really understand the strong feelings some here seem to have around wanting a full suspension bike, at least for a commuter. Mountain bike I can understand, but I can't see taking something this heavy out to do any real mountain biking unless it's being used as an extremely low range...

    Superbike - Series 2 pricing, what's next?

That would be sad, I like the design of the current UCP (which I own) much more.

Any interest in committing to pre-launch price for a limited run hard tail superbike ? Round One Pricing added- through April 11th.

This is something I wouldn't be worried about with Pushkar's stuff. The wheels on the UCP are crazy strong. I haven't had any issues with high speed, lots to accel/de-accel, city potholes.

WattWagon Ultimate Commuter Pro (UCP) in depth review

I have now mounted the new larger 60 tooth front sprocket and 125 tooth belt. Happily it has not significantly affected my ability to ride without electrical assist, even while towing if not up large hills. I have been doing more casual riding and less commuting thanks to Covid19 and wanted to...

WattWagon Ultimate Commuter Pro (UCP) in depth review

Interesting I had no idea. Although I do not store my bike outside, its in the house or in a relatively warm underground parking garage. Even so this sounds like a good explanation.
