With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

In my opinion, only the emotional ones. This is not most investor's first time at the rodeo. If people are concerned about what is going on with the markets, they shouldn't be involved with equities. Source: Fidelity. B, S & T: Spinning Wheel. What goes up, must come down, spinning wheel...

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

I hope the tariffs actually reduce the spending (overall) of those that it makes a difference to. People buy too much Chinese crap they can truly do without.

    Riding without the motor

I ride unpowered most of the time; knee dependent. Also will kick it on if increased speed is needed (usually potential rain related). Unpowered "normal" speed is 12ish mph; powered normal is 15 mph, (20 used once).

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

Have CEOs and Wall street ever really cared about things like this? It universally applies to all importers; will soon be the new "normal". Prices go up, life goes on.

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

Correct, perhaps the professional is buying at a quantity discount though. Bottom line, a professional is probably not buying their bikes on the used market; would not surprise me if they had a relationship with several bike shops to take used inventory of their hands. Locally, a dealer will...

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

Never said prices wouldn't go up. Got no idea on cost of components at wholesale or selling price of one of @PedalUma 's bikes. If he sells one he described as "better than a $4500 Vado" for $3000 and the wholesale price of Chinese components changes from $500 to $1000, the bike goes from...

Professional converters. I don't have the numbers, but I thought @PedalUma indicated the cost of the parts from China is not a high % of the professionally converted ebike he sells.

Won't it just create more @PedalUma 's? We've got (2) Raleigh Hybrids in excellent condition that probably increased in value. We typically donate our unused toys though.

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

How long you plan on staying out? I usually buy, then double down with another drop. Actually trippled down once. With an average buy of 98 in (2020?) sold last year ~ 368. Bought back in a few weeks ago low 300s, considering doubling down when I get home next week (missed low 270s)

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

Problem with buy lower, sell higher? Dollar cost averaging is your friend. Just because the market reacted emotionally to tariff antics, do you think a solid company is really a poor investment compared to pre-tariff talk?

My bad, been on the road for a bit and haven't been checking; currently 4.53%.

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

Was cash heavy (currently 4.99% return), was busy taking profits. Been buying during current emotional trade dips. I think Buffett said sell when others are buying and buy when others are selling.

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

It allows people in all states to make a difference. Without the current system, big city voters would have an advantage.
