Bafang 750 Watt, Integrated Wheel, Rear Hub Fat Bike Motor

May be a silly question, but do the wires have to be under any load to test? Where? I would do it at the 3 wire connector. Then mark the 2 pins were going to use. Makes no difference which wire is which here. It's an on-off switch. So I can do this without anything assembled hooked up? Am I...

Bafang 750 Watt, Integrated Wheel, Rear Hub Fat Bike Motor

I agree, one job at a time, or at least getting a complete grasp on what needs to be done before I start. OK, we are going to change the ends of the OLD brake handles to match the new 3 wire harness. I took the NEW handles apart, and there is a simple button switch that slips into a housing...

I apologize for the confusion. I'm doing the best I can with everything new. And I really appreciate the time and effort. The throttle connectors are the same, which means I could use old or new throttle with new harness. The display wire would match, but i plan on changing the display. The...

    Gear Ratio Calculator

When shopping around, researching ebikes, less is written about gear ratios than motor options. When I got my bike, pedaling topped out at 15 mph, not very satisfying for me. I've upgraded to a 60 tooth ring up front (while the existing 7 speed 11/28 cog remains in the rear), and can now...

Bafang 750 Watt, Integrated Wheel, Rear Hub Fat Bike Motor

My experience with electronics is building a small appliance that is pretty standardized and self designed, hand made mostly of wood, with a single 18650 battery. If I ever have to join wires together, I use butt connectors. I tin everything, heavily, before soldering, even with connectors, but...

I agree, probably not a that big a deal to snake the cable, but it would also involve swapping out brake handles (different sensor and seem much cheaper made), throttle (even though old throttle works with new harness). I've never done any of this before, and not having to rebuild the brake...

That is the cable that is snaked through the frame from the display (lots of other stuff as well). These plugs do not pair. One says Julet, one says Lermew. Should I swap out this entire cable - seems to be a big job? Or just change a connector - if that is even possible? BTW - @Timpo the 52v...

Waiting on battery connector (mistakenly bought xt90 vs xt60, but will be here tomorrow). so I took a closer look at the current set up. current motor cable that my controller motor cable fits current cable with new controller terminal - not sure what this cable does (JULET VS LERMEW)

How do you store your bike?

For both work and storage. Lifts my 80# bike no problem. Might need some additional hold down straps or something to keep bike steady, but it's a very secure set up. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V6WTMP2/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Ariel Rider D Class or Juiced Bikes HyperScorpion?

I feel the most *pedalable* might just be the Rize Blade (see EBR review). The rear cog is 11-32 and chainring is 52 teeth. I currently own an Addmotor M-70 and it came with 14/28 and 48 - unable to pedal above 15. I changed the chainring to a 56 tooth and can now pedal at 20 mph. This allows...

Yes, I have another battery slide to work with, but it shipped with the new battery, and it has a totally different connector. Changing the connectors seems like fairly basic soldering / heat shrink job. I've already ordered connectors and wrap. I'll take a look at the PAS sensor tomorrow. Where...

Bafang 750 Watt, Integrated Wheel, Rear Hub Fat Bike Motor

52v battery arrived, I gave a quick test spin, maybe 1 mph faster. If I ever get this new controller working, the 52v should really make a difference. Here's what I've run into. New controller battery cable: found these on Amazon...

I'll take a closer look. I know the battery plug is different, but maybe can be changed from battery connector side vs controller. Would it be possible for all installed hardware to just plug in (throttle, brakes, cadence, PA, etc).

Maybe this will clear things up. The motor cable has a 3 pin jack, with another cable extension from motor to controller, also 3 pin (exact same). showing the other end of the cable plugged into the motor...

Wow, that's a lot of information. I've been reading, rereading, and I'm sure I will many more times. As of right now, I can only identify one cable coming from my Bafang motor. And yes it is geared. The cable comes right through the axle / nut on the right side of the bike.

There is also a wire harness, but only 4 wires come out of one end of the new controller. That's it. I'll get the bike up on the lift and take more pics of the motor. What type of wire(s) are we talking about - copper, gauge, solid, stranded? Would you use butt splice connectors as well as...

Set up space in my wood shop for a bike shop. I bought one of those kayak hoists, but bike too heavy for it. I do have a kind of jack stand / tripod I use for woodworking that I built an adapter for, and even though I have to lift the 80 lb bike, it's a good working height, and pretty stable...
