Are Americans savvy enough to discern the difference between high-tech and low-tech electric bikes?

This brings us back to Larry's original question about consumers knowing the difference and Calvin's comments above. The Dash has it all in a great package at a competitive price point. Why would I spend the same or more money to get less? As Calvin points out, with all this on offer...

Are Americans savvy enough to discern the difference between high-tech and low-tech electric bikes?

Admittedly, I am not an experienced cyclist, but I found that while I was test riding the E3 Dash and playing with the level of assist AND the gears that it made the experience that much better. I haven't gotten my bike yet, but I suspect that having the gears will be superior to not having...

    E3 Dash...test riders?

Well, two weeks have passed and still since I was told my bike had shipped yet still no E3 Dash. LBS says it is in transit. Makes me long for Amazon Prime!

Recommendations: 6'1" Male, 210lbs, Hilly Area, Affordable

Hey, Greg. As you can see there are lots of great choices. I have ridden the E3 Dash and mine should be at the dealer in a few days. It shipped last week. The bike is super impressive and it is a Currie so it will be well backed by the company and your local dealer. Court has a great...

    Sore Tailbone!

Hey Justin, I get it. I ride an Electra Townie with the flat foot design. It is good, but the Dash felt better to me. The seat is, well, not so much, to be honest. I am sure I will want to put a different saddle on it, but don't know what yet. The bike doesn't seemed designed to...

    E3 Dash...test riders?

Court, No assembly necessary. I decided to forego the brief online deal on the Dash and in this case pay a $500 premium with the tax savings to do my part to support my LBS A few weeks ago I brought in a bike with an old Shimano auto transmission. He worked on the bike for a hour but it...

    E3 Dash...test riders?

My dealer called to give me a heads up that my E3 Dash shipped today from Currie. Since I am in Florida probably won't see the bike until this time next week, but good to know the bikes are shipping and nice of my dealer to call and let me know.

    Interchangeable Twist Throttle Grips?

They are nice grips but if not comfortable may need a change. How do you like the Commuter Fritz?

    E3 Dash...test riders?

Sends a strong positive message when the President of the company is out front and involved as Larry Pizzi is with all of us. And even more impressive when you realize how big Curie is in the space.

    E3 Dash...test riders?

No. Looks like end of the month for the Dash. This is just a photo of it but I did ride one and it is a great bike. I am now thinking a Low Step Zuma for my wife. Don't know when the new ones come out.

Local Dealer vs. A Great Deal

Court, your story on the Neo Jumper is spot on. I have heard from a few dealers that the mistake some bike companies make is that they won't sell them just one bike. They want them to take on the line and invest heavily in their product line. Consequently, there are still a lot of dealers...

Slime, Thorn Resistant Tires and Airless Bicycle Tubes?

That is very cool. Will look into it. So there is a AAA for cyclists:-)

    Interchangeable Twist Throttle Grips?

Thanks guys. My dealer said " how do you think they got the stuff on there in the first place" dah! I guess he is right. Still no bike so I have a ways to go before I try to trick it out.

Slime, Thorn Resistant Tires and Airless Bicycle Tubes?

Thanks, Court. Looks like air pressure not sealant and good design will prevail. Time to get a tube replacement kit. Seems like you should be able to call AAA, get a charge and a flat fixed:-)

    2014 Currie IZIP E3 DASH

Larry, Thanks. Your comments are a big help. I will scrap the idea of sealants and take your advice. Currently, we check the air in our tires before every ride on our regular bikes. I will assemble a tire kit as you suggest. I appreciate your help. Ralph

Slime, Thorn Resistant Tires and Airless Bicycle Tubes?

Thanks Court. Yep it is small money to try it. My local dealer said if the Presta valve stem will come out of the stem. I guess it must? He will put in some slime. Or maybe I get one of the tubes for the front tire since it is easy to change. Still have two or three weeks to I see the bike.
