    Segway C80 ebike

I have a mixed feeling about this. People have been getting pulled over by the police for using these "ebikes" with virtually useless pedals. What do you think? https://newatlas.com/urban-transport/segway-c80-moped-ebike/

Honda E won't be coming to the US

    Panasonic Gorilla eBike GPS

So far it's only available in Japan but I am not sure if something like this would get popular in the US.. a bit too bulky in my opinion.

    No more wattage rating?

As we know ebikes power is measured in W and that's what government organizations and manufactures have been using. So the Shimano E8000 has been replaced by EP8. Here's what gets interesting.. they're no longer revealing W rating for their motors. According to Grin Technologies in Canada...

    Kawasaki Noslisu

Quite a bit different from current Kawasaki lineups https://kawasakiebikes.com/integrated In my opinion, they should start building their own powertrain like Yamaha.

    Variable Field Magnet Motor

Anyone understand this?? 🤯 I'm not an engineer so I'm a bit confused. Looks like it's a new technology from Japan? Apparently it's some kind of new technology, here's the reference: https://doi.org/10.1002/tee.22891 Matsui, N. (2019). Design and control of variable field permanent magnet...

    ASI

Have you ever heard of this company? They're Canadian company and very well respected in ebike world. Luna and Grin use ASI speed controller. Also, I'm impressed with their ASI direct drive motor. On the spec sheet, it does appear to be superior to Stromer ST5 and Rad City's direct drive...

Rize refuses to replace or pay for faulty brake pads on leisure and rx pro

I did watch the video, I could not tell if you were applying the brake or not because I couldn't see the lever. The video was focusing on the tire/brake area. From what I can see, the brake needs to be broken-in (assuming it was adjusted properly) In my experience, almost any sintered (metallic...

Rize refuses to replace or pay for faulty brake pads on leisure and rx pro

If brakes are properly adjusted, it shouldn't be making noise at all.. unless you're talking about brake noise while applying brakes ?

Rize refuses to replace or pay for faulty brake pads on leisure and rx pro

That sucks, sorry you had to go through all that. Some brake pads do make squawking noise, it is very annoying. Switching pads to Shimano resin will help. When I had my Tektro pads.. yeah they were sintered (some call it "metallic pads") so inevitably it was making annoying noise when the...

    Panasonic Jetter

It's not available in North America, but I thought it would be interesting. I guess it's their new concept of commuter? I know the Japanese typically use mamachari style ebike for commuting. 150,000 yen ($1413) https://cycle.panasonic.com/products/elhc/

    Is there any DOT headlight?

I commute on my ebike. I know ebikes are exempt from DOT standards, so we don't really have to follow that, but I absolutely hate scattering beam patterns. It is really blinding when I see other cyclists on opposite lane in the bike path. I also feel very bad for blinding other cyclists too...
