    Vintage Electric 72V Scrambler

My Vintage Electric 72V Scrambler. I swapped out the seat for a Brooks and the tires for street tires. Brakes have also been upgraded to Magura 4 Piston with 220mm rotors. The power is intoxicating. Really gets up and goes. So much fun to ride and the range is excellent. Keeping the assist level...

    Hydra on its way!

On a side note, some serious cable management is needed on this bike. WW really needs to get better with this.

    Hydra on its way!

    Hydra on its way!

Correct the battery goes inside the frame. I just put some on the battery cover/door as it’s right behind the front tire. Might not be necessary but I’d rather be safe than sorry.

    Hydra on its way!

Get some frame protection for it. Especially where the battery goes and the chainstay. Google All Mountain Style.

    Hydra as a commuter?

Like the wide gearing on this cassette from Box. Built specifically for e-bikes. https://www.jensonusa.com/BOX-Two-Prime-9-E-Bike-Cassette

    Hydra as a commuter?

Looks pretty beefy. Might have to give one a try when I need to replace my current cassettes.

    Hydra as a commuter?

With the WW high power bikes you need heavy duty components. Like KMC Ebike chain (I’ve yet to snap one), steel free hub body, and Ebike specific cassettes. I also run 9 and 10 speed cassettes as I’ve found you don’t need more gears with the bikes power and getting a decent chain line is easier.

    Hydra as a commuter?

Call me crazy but I’m not sure if Id put a Kindernay on one of these bikes with as much torque as they make. I prefer the cheaper to replace cassette and derailleur setup.

    WattWagons Ti CT Fattie

Recommend these, Vee Tire Speedsters, 26X3.5 so not as wide as you have now. Still decently wide on an 80mm rim. Still need to run these at higher pressures, I run 20 psi front and 22 psi rear. Your other choice would be Vee Tire Zig Zags, 26X4.0. Can’t comment on the performance of the Zig Zags...

    WattWagons Ti CT Fattie

I had them on my bike before. Not a fan. Could never get them to seat properly and despite being a slick they pick up stones and stuff. I also found that unless run at high pressure they don’t run smoothly.

A Tale of Two Bikes (Part 1)

I went a different direction and got a Vintage Electric 72V Scrambler. I upgraded the brakes, tires and seat. Very competitive price wise to a fully loaded Watt Wagons bike. Still have my two Watt Wagons Hydra’s and love them. The retro styling really got me on this bike. Nothing else like it.

Is Watt Wagons Folding It's Business?

Unfortunately there are other manufacturers that run this same type of business model. Sondors is one that comes to mind. When they launch a new bike they show you renderings, not actual pictures of the bike your getting. Ninety percent of the time the bike you get isn’t exactly what was...

Is Watt Wagons Folding It's Business?

I can only comment on my dealings with Pushkar and Watt Wagons all which have been nothing but positive. So yes I am going to defend them when people repeatedly continue to bash the company. We get the fact that you and others don’t like WW, it’s been stated many times. So much so that its...

Is Watt Wagons Folding It's Business?

This post is stupid. They aren’t going out of business, I talked to Greg yesterday about ordering a spare 52v battery. They are alive and well.
