Giant Support in USA Gone Dark?

Wow, It hate hearing stuff like this from the "Big Gun" eBike guys ( ie Trek, Giant etc) and just looking through past posts on here it makes you question how much support an LBS can actually offer doing 1 part at a time diagnostic/repair warranty work. I mean why not send the 3 most likely...

Don't take your hands off the handlebars of your ebike !

I can't believe we need to address this too folks pushing 70. If your not taking responsibility for your decisions by now, what's the use? At least with Medicare and Part B your emergency stay is handled. (:

    My Tricked out XP

You and @sed6 are the modders in this case, so you guys should start the thread. I'm thinking stylistic modifications. Anyway great jobs, both of you.

Advice for older man wanting to get back on the trails

Great that the tires and platforms ( have a similar pair on my fattie) saved you the $ a new bike would have cost. In fact improving the bike one already owns might be the cheaper, more pragmatic solution.

Priority Bicycles just launched the most affordable Gates belt mid-drive e-bike

Priority is an impressive company. I have been following Ryan Van Duzer on his Divide ride using the Priority adventure 600 with pinion gearing. It doesn't surprise me their eBike are also innovative.

Pro cyclist caught cheating with hidden motor in bike

Honorable competition, especially at the pro level, is myth.

The Front fork recommendations for air pressure

Zip tie is good advise. My generic air/spring forks have an o-ring. I do have mine set up now as "acceptable". They don't top out or bottom and they provide a less jarring ride. These sub $200 front suspensions are a few steps above the rst forks on a Wallmart MTB, and that's okay for my...

Advice for older man wanting to get back on the trails

Great solution. Based on what you just said, I am not going to rent the accoustic gravel bike I was planning to rent. (:

Yeah, a member here, Micah. He is on YouTube. eBike school. He also has some books. I find him easy to follow.

I'm giving up doing scratch builds and repairing other bikes

Sorry that eBike folk are losing someone who can fix their problems, by the same token fixing anything broken can be a thankless endeavor.

How To Pack An E-Bike Into A Station Wagon (a tutorial)

If you expand the photo you will see the glass roof line. This was not actually intended as anything but a spoof, accuracy was not the intent. Obviously whoever shot this photo was trying to do a 442 theme. Nice job actually, looks like hood and stripes were the max done. Very economical.

    Thanks for accepting me.

Sometimes its best to do an intro post first, then a request for information. eBay and Alibaba have kits, controllers, displays and battery packs. I have seen controller, display bundles under $100 pretty often, although I have not checked of late.

Pulled the trigger on a 2021 Trek Allant+7 Lowstep.

I really like that setup. I have been looking at Giant Explore. This style just seems like a more useful bike for urban bike paths and rail trail with an overnight trip or two adding panniers. Having the ability to share an aux battery in the event one of you over throttles or rides in turbo...

Advice for older man wanting to get back on the trails

Assuming your just wanting a single track experience at brisk hiking speeds or even 7-8mph, my $800 Ecotric 26" fattie works fine. I air down if its really rutted out. @richc is right about slow handling, even more so if you add suspension forks that effect rake and trail ( the add-on forks are...

Some good news: Mark (customer service) from Rize finally fired.

Spatzi, Sorry for your loss, my heart goes out. If eBikes are to move past "fad" status the sellers must come to grips with the fact they are, for the most part, selling an escape. A way to relieve stress, be active, smile. A very small group "needs" their product, it is a toy. It would go a...

    Taking Your eBike RVing

We carry two bikes on our Aliner. A 26 fattie and a 20" folder. When camped both bikes go on the rack with a cable lock and locking clamps that latch onto the crossbar. When under way the folder goes in the rig. The cover is always on if on the rack. That said....lots if camping, Zero problems...

    Suspension fork differences

I have air forks ( branded but prob same mfg as Passak) on my Ecotric 26" fattie. Harry said it best, they work great absorbing pot hole and road bumps but are absolutely not safe for jumping or extreme riding. That said , they are better than the RST spring forks that came stock on the Giant...

    Ebikes prohibited on ferries

I so remember that era. Showing up in Park City with my Burton and having some employee red faced and screaming at me. It was insane. But then again, do humans ever deal with new stuff well? A large group never does, that's for sure. Now it's those wild and crazy downhill MTB'ers against those...

    e-not-bikes

We Amazing how developed this nitche market seems to be. Electrified they are basically, to my way of thinking, scooters with "real" wheels. I imagine they steer much slower than a razor style scoot with small diameter tires.
