How to make brakes less powerful

A serious answer: If you have fancy brakes (e.g. SRAM Code RSC) they have a contact point adjustment on the brake body which will let you make the brake application more gradual. A joke answer in the spirt of the rest of the answers: Get a little bit of air in your hydraulic lines...

How accurate are distances on e bikes

A few people mentioned adjusting wheel circumference to dial in the speedometer on the bike. That's getting locked down more and more because it was used as an exploit to exceed the bike's speed limit. Speed limits on ebikes refer to the maximum speed where the bike is allowed to provide...

    Newbie looking for advice

    > Calf/Achilles/Shin Pain > This comes commonly from a saddle position that is too high and likely too far back. > This position sees the calf being constantly flexed both in the down and upstroke, overusing the calf muscle. > This pulls on the tendons and attachments around the calf, causing...

Two iPhone applications - What is the difference?

I use the new one because I like the integrated map/stats page and I don't really have a long-term use for heartrate data. But I wish it would start recording that again just to satisfy my inner nerd.

Turbo Vado 3.0 IGH - Poor Range.

Did you ride until the battery was dead (or 5% or wherever it stops)? Or did you ride and add the "remaining range" to your actual trip distance? The computer seems to take several rides when the bike is new to learn the battery and report range properly. Mine way under reported range for the...

    Spoke Tension

You can't judge the tension just from the number reading on the gauge. You need the decoder table that uses the material and the gauge of the spokes to turn it into tension.

Two iPhone applications - What is the difference?

They do almost exactly the same thing. Assuming the Apple colors match the Android ones, the black icon is the new version. There's a thread about it: https://forums.electricbikereview.com/threads/new-spec-app.53670/ Overall I like the new app better except for the fact that it doesn't record...

Bought Tero 3.0, Want to Switch to Tero X 4.0

I think the other major ebike thing that the Levo has is "shuttle" mode which is like an even higher assist levels meant to drag you up the hill with minimal effort. That's not available on bikes other than Levo/Kenevo. The rear geometry isn't as fancy as a "real" MTB but if you have to ask...

Bought Tero 3.0, Want to Switch to Tero X 4.0

Well, I'm biased as a Tero X 6 owner. Is it a "poor attempt at an all-purpose commuter"? Kind of. It's trying to span a really wide range of applications and in some cases (e.g. full fenders) it goes hard in one direction with no compromise for the other. It's also class 3 which excludes it...

    NBD Vado 3 IGH

I think the Tero 3 got a FW update to class 3 a few years ago, maybe the Vado 3 did at the same time? There was also some early press kit that showed the Tero X 4 being class 1 (I saw it in some preview videos when I was shopping) but it shipped as a class 3, so it seems like the whole strategy...

    I bought a Turbo Tero X 6.0, AMA

Well I would have said no, but on my new chain's maiden voyage I kind of accidentally did. I'm not sure the seals in the shock/fork care how deep the bumps you hit are as much as they care about how many cycles they do. The witness rings on mine are usually sitting around 60-70% travel so the...

    I bought a Turbo Tero X 6.0, AMA

100 hours is the recommended service interval. I have no experience to know how strict that is. I do know I've been running the shock about 10% over its max pressure due to combined rider/bike weight to get the desired sag. Total average rider power + motor power is usually around 300W. On my...

    I bought a Turbo Tero X 6.0, AMA

Just replaced the original chain at 1585 miles. It was mostly lubed with Muc-Off dry lube, which I quite liked. But the last couple hundred miles were with Muc-Off wet lube, and that is a gloopy mess. I check chain wear regularly, so I know the old chain just hit 0.5% wear. I couldn't find it...

Why should I care about Open Ai's boss?

I did not have "member of bicycle forum advocates for cultural revolution" on my bingo card today.

    Rotor rubbing after reinstalling wheel

The calipers are adjustable to avoid rubbing if it's just a minor amount. Probably easier to watch a video than get a text description, but it's pretty easy.

    Tero X 6 and 9 other ESUV's compared

They got the fabled white Turbo Tero X 6! That's the only one I've seen that's not in Specialized's own promo photos.

    It's cataract surgery time

Being unable to see up close has been a surprisingly annoying part of getting old. My brain still really doesn't comprehend that things don't get clearer if you move them closer. My lenses are fine and I'd be tempted to spend $4500/eye to have simultaneous near/far vision again! What's the name...

Order bikes from Specialized brick & motor store or indie dealer?

FWIW, when I bought my Tero X I test rode adjacent bikes at LBS, but they didn't have the actual bike I wanted. I asked if it mattered if I ordered through them or online (shipped to them) and they said they didn't care. As someone picking up an online order in the store they seemed to expect I...

Any comments on these battery-powered tire pumps?

I have the CYCPLUS one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BVW1CTZJ and it works. It's also tiny. Maybe the same volume as one CO2 + inflator, but shorter. I'm not carrying it because I'm lazy, it's just the smallest thing available that can reliably inflate my tires. Being faster and easier...

Handlebar Options for Superdelite Mountain Rohloff?

Grips and bar ends are almost entirely universal. You can have different grips without changing the bars. Ergon makes stuff like you're describing. Also sqlabs
