Holy crap Aventon! What is this silver stuff you're putting on your chains?!? I've tried 2 different strong degreasers

My Aventure.2 chain was terrible and wore out in like 350 miles (and to prove I'm not bad at chain maintenance, a SRAM chain on my Tero X lasted 1500 miles). That said, that looks like corrosion, not a coating.

What motivates you to add a dropper post to your gravel bike?

The Reverb AXS APLR locks out in the topmost position but if you move it down slightly (which requires finesse according to reviewers) it has compliance. It uses a standard shock pump to set the firmness. I know this because I'm getting a gravel bike and thinking of adding that stupidly...

Chain came off: Vado SL 4

I would guess debris caused the first issue and then you didn't line up the narrow/wide crank teeth with the chain when you first put it back, leading to a quick chain drop.

Front carrier / rack & lock question

I don't know about fit, but here are two brief bike lock reviews: Foldylock has a nice key, good action, seems like it is as strong as it can be for its size/weight, and the inner diameter is reasonable. Abus Bordo Ugrip Lite 6055 60cm is tiny and light, but the lock is kind of junky and it's...

    Specialized releases Turbo Tero X

You were destined to join those of us with innerbarends anyway. And in that case you need Knog Oi Luxe bell. It fits in the stackup with the innerbarends while still being reachable from your thumb. It feel very similar to use to the original bell (which I liked). You can tweak the angle of the...

Anyone have experience with SRAM Eagle Transmission on any Specialized e-bike?

If these were demo bikes (especially if new) it's likely they weren't bedded in at all (or properly).

Anyone have experience with SRAM Eagle Transmission on any Specialized e-bike?

I talked to Specialized yesterday and they said the current model lineup is discontinued. So either there will be a Creo 3 or just a new mix of specs for new Creo 2s. No timeline, unfortunately. The whole Creo 2 release was kind of odd: They barely promoted it (I don't think they sent any to...

Anyone have experience with SRAM Eagle Transmission on any Specialized e-bike?

To muddy the waters, I have a Tero X 6 (which I also ride on the road, on gravel, and rarely on single track). I wish I had bought a Creo 2 when they were available (since I have had a good experience with Specialized!) and that is now leading me to consider a Grizl:ON CF 9. I'm mainly wanting a...

No more 2023 Turbo Creo 2s

Chatted with a rep online. The models shown on the website are not going to come back in stock. The Creo line will continue, but they are not making more of the 2023s. It also sounded like Specialized dealers are not allowed to ship bikes outside their region, so no use finding stock at a...

Anyone have experience with SRAM Eagle Transmission on any Specialized e-bike?

Really? The reviews implied that you were locked into futureshock forever. Maybe they meant if you keep the fork?

    I bought a bike seat.

That saddle seems exactly backwards from the prevailing wisdom about saddles, so it is either an amazing idea or a terrible idea. I have a sqlab saddle that has almost no padding. But because it's the right width for my sit bones and my riding position, it's very comfortable. It supports me...

Anyone have experience with SRAM Eagle Transmission on any Specialized e-bike?

Seems like an overly complicated explanation. More likely anyone who doesn't understand anything about shifting also never lubes their chain. They probably don't have a chain gauge, and so when the first chain wears out they ride it until it destroys the cassette, too. Then they bring it to LBS...

Anyone have experience with SRAM Eagle Transmission on any Specialized e-bike?

Only on their ebike models. See https://www.sram.com/en/sram/mountain/series/x01-eagle?filters=&sort=Relevancy&page=1 there's SL-X01-PA-B2 (single click) and SL-X0-1-B2 (regular)

    specialized creo 2

Keep in mind the displayed speed and max assist speed will be reduced if the overall wheel diameter is reduced. It might be possible for an authorized dealer to adjust the TCU, but ebikes took that away from users because it's an easy way to cheat speed limits.

    Adventure 2 rear rotor

I have an Aventure.2. The problem is that the stock tire tread pitch vibration at those speeds matches the resonant frequency of the stock brake rotors. I swapped mine (to ones with an aluminum hub, not recommended) and the issue went away. The aluminum hub is too thick to clear (I think in the...

Problems connecting new Specialized app to Turbo Vado 5.0

Do you still have it installed? In my experience the two apps fight over ownership of the bike. I ended up uninstalling the old mission control app.

    Delite4/Superdelite carrier and range queries.

You can get shorter cranks. A lot of recent research has shown that most people are using cranks that are too long anyway.

    Lubing an eBike chain

You can lube the bike on the ground by turning the crank backwards. If you have a mid-drive where that freewheels, a trick is to stick an allen key into one of the crank bolts so that the crank catches it and turns the sprocket backwards. BE SURE TO REMOVE IT AFTER!

Ride Website No Longer Tracks Battery Usage?

Well Ride is doing that annoying thing where it kicks me to a login screen when I try to view history. And the black icon "Specialized" app is definitely not showing microtune levels now that it's using the round presentation for power levels. Maybe it has disappeared in an upgrade.

Ride Website No Longer Tracks Battery Usage?

They're still recording it even if it's not shown on that website. It's visible in a couple of the phone apps.
