The +$300 19.2 AH 48V Battery Has Been Replaced by the +$600 19.2 AH 52V Battery for CCS, RCS

As an owner of a 52V battery on a CCS, I can safely say its absolutely worth it. The bike is still a bargain at that price and the 52V system does add increased performance, riding range, and flexibility with charging cycles.

Report of my first 4000 miles on a CCS (also my first 5 months of owning it)

Yeah I totally agree. I'm a nurse, and I watched a video a while back of a guy using an 18 gauge needle and 20 cc syringe to inject more sealant into his tire. While I am sure this would work out fine, taking out the valve core and injecting it there seems far more appealing to me.

Three months with CCS: Good and Bad

Must have been a quite a bump, or possibly your spoke tension was off beforehand. I've had tons of hard high speed hits over bumps and potholes, fortunately no issues so far. I do check and adjust spoke tension at least twice a month though as I am commuting everyday.

"No fair." In so many ways!

Most of the time I encounter other cyclists on the road, the speed differential between them and me is large enough that if they say anything as I fly by, I can't hear them. :D

    Tell Us About Your Commute.

My commute is ~ 30 miles each way. Mostly suburban roads and some city. My usual route has bike lane for nearly the whole trip. Posted speeds are 30-45 mph. I live in Utah so there are some hills, (I average ~ 1000 ft of vertical climb each direction). There are some bike trails, but none are...

Report of my first 4000 miles on a CCS (also my first 5 months of owning it)

Yes I did use the stock Kenda tires. I am actually quite pleased with the performance of these tires overall. Traction is great while cornering at speed. I used 21mm rim tape. Here's the kit I used...

Why did you buy make and model?

Yeah, you have to be stressing your battery a bit for your commute; either that or you are keeping your speeds on the lower side. I have a 30 mile one way commute. I went with the CCS and was lucky enough to order when the 52V/ 21Ah battery was available. It made the price about $1K more than...

Another article showing the health benefits of ebiking

So when your friends say silly things like, "do you even get any exercise riding an ebike" or something similar, show them this. https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2018-07/uob-rae072618.php

    Beware the Bicycle Lane

So the route I ride home most often has just such an intersection. Yes, I take the lane and merge left to turn left (there are 2 left turn lanes and I use the right one so that I can easily reassume the bike lane). Riding an ebike is honestly the only reason this is realistically possible. On...

    cross current s question(s)

I have been fortunate to have only had 2 drops in > 2000 miles of riding. I am wondering a bit about cadence and whether it is associated with chaindrop??? I ask this because it is very apparent that I am comfortable at much higher cadence than most. Reid mentions being happy with a higher...

    Why do we ebike?

So I have commuted on a bicycle off and on for 30 years. To your point, my biggest fear has always been the drivers in the cars around me. I have fortunately only had one accident when some idiot pulled out in front of me and I went over the handlebars in a panic stop lockup. The as*hole stopped...

    Crazy Stupid Commute

Interesting problem. Unfortunately with the standard "dumb" charger, you don't get any voltage info from the battery. My suggestion would be to fully charge, test the battery with a volt meter, then go for a ride where you use ~9.5 Ah, then retest the voltage in the pack. Here's a chart to...

Looking for a low maintenance commuter

I can give you some feedback on performance of the CCS. (I can't comment on the others). I use my CCS daily for my 30 mile one way commute. I live in Utah which is very hilly. The CCS does great on any paved hills you are likely to encounter. The steepest hill I occasionally ride has a maximum...

Report of my first 4000 miles on a CCS (also my first 5 months of owning it)

My motor sounds and performs the same as it did from day one. I haven't noticed anything that would lead me to believe it won't last for at least 20,000 miles. I do some things out of habit to promote longevity. I am changing both gears and assist levels to maximize efficiency. From a start I...

Report of my first 4000 miles on a CCS (also my first 5 months of owning it)

So I crossed the 2000 mile mark today. Figured its a good time for an update. The CCS continues to impress. I really don't think you can buy another bike right now that offers what the CCS does at anywhere near the price. The combination of speed, efficiency, and price is just great. I have...

Known Issues & Problems with Juiced Bikes Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

The Juiced motor is wound for high speed. The tradeoff for that is less low speed torque. I would guess that the top speed of your bike is a good bit higher than hers. There's always a tradeoff somewhere.

    Tool Kit

Since I spend a lot of time commuting on my bike, my tool kit is definitely overkill for most riders. One of my panniers is almost full with spare tubes, patch kit, and tools. If I can't fix it on the side of the road, it's really friggin broke. This comes from years of commuting on my road...

    Crazy Stupid Commute

Juiced seems to be catching up on production and orders. 3 weeks is not a very long wait compared to what it was. Congrats on the bike. Interesting to hear your initial comparison with the Stromer. I'll be very curious to hear a more detailed comparison after you can get some more time on the bike.

    Juiced CCS Squeaky front wheel/brake?

So you shouldn't have any sound from the brakes just rolling. The first thing I'd check is the front wheel to verify its on straight, (release the lever on the skewer while the bike is on the ground and while the bike is vertical -not on the kick stand- reapply the lever). If this does not work...
