TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

Just an update… I got my TDSZ8 put on today, along with a new 48v 20ah battery. It exceeded my expectations. I did a 10 mile ride on some long steep off road hills and the motor stayed pretty cool. The torque response was great. It was much stronger than the TDSZ2 I burned up.

I'll check it out. Is it torque sensing like the TDSZ or cadence?

Mine looks much better on the outside but worse on the inside. I definitely worked it hard. Yeah that Yamaha is nice.

Ok. Good advice. ... And the 13 ah that I have is okay for the TDSZ8?

TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

The thing I wondered about using my old battery is - since I've done that hill dozens of times without issue - what if my battery began to diminish and that perhaps put too much stress on my motor and caused it to cook? That's why I thought I maybe should get a new battery too?

TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

Since you guys are now familiar with my hilly area and aggressive riding, I might as well ask here... Would the TDSZ8 with a 52v 20ah battery be good for my situation? And is AliExpress a legit place to buy? They seem to offer the cheapest price.

I prefer the torque sensing myself. But I will check out those options too. Thanks.

TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

Well, I think I might retire her and upgrade. I'm planning to continue riding the very hilly area where I live, so I don't know if it's worth it to patch her up and then beat her up on those hills again and again. I think I'll start a new thread and ask about the TDSZ8. (Unless I could continue...

Thanks. I will try this tomorrow. What does it mean if I can turn the brass gear?

TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

Ok fellas, I had a few minutes to take the cover off and it was revealing. The yellow green and blue wires look burned and may be a little corroded. Some of the plastic was melted. However I took a continuity test between blue to yellow/yellow to green/blue to green and all of them had .4 ohms...

TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

Hey guys. I probably won’t be able to tear my motor apart till tomorrow but I just noticed something when I was moving my bicycle that could be significant. When I tried to coast it backwards just to move it, it doesn’t move freely - the motor engages, there is tension and it growls. I wish...

TSDZ2 750w losing power on hills

That’s what I was wondering… If the battery was already on its way out and fried something in the motor. I’m not sure if that would be causal or coincidental.

The charger output read at 54.1 V Unfortunately the display does not show wattage or amperage.

OK. I fully charged my battery again and checked it with the voltage meter. It read 53.2 v. This time, my display read 52.2 V. The assistance was still minimal. When I tried to pedal up a hill the display voltage dropped to 49.7 v. I won’t have time today to tear the motor apart and do...

EMGX said he had a C3 display like mine and it would read 50.8 at full charge too. I will charge my battery and test it with a multimeter to see if it's actually higher (assuming the C3 display maxes out at 50.8 for some reason).

Yep. Everything same on flat now. (I'm trying to find someone local with a Hailong battery to rule that out.)
