Riding eMtn Bike too slow and was run off the bike path

So I've now got a moderate to severe case of systemic vasculitis either from the Keflex Antibiotic that I needed for 10 days after my right shin wound became infected (post crash), or from something that got into the wound which was about 3-4mm deep. Fun. Both knees, elbows and left ankle are...

Let's see your best pic of your electric bicycle

My wife rode her Trek Neko+ to work yesterday (8+ miles from Cheyenne Mountain to Downtown Colorado Springs), and then I rode my Trek Powerfully 7 out to meet her for dinner outside, so that we could ride home together.

    Walk function on Trek Bicycles

I could have sworn the walk function was enabled with my 2017 Powerfly 7 (Walk and the + button). On level ground I didn't feel the bike pushing forward, but the pedals started rotating when I rolled the bike on flat ground, and they don't rotate with walk mode off.

    townie ebike extra speed

Yes, definitely a good idea to test your brakes to see how well they can stop at different speeds, and you definitely get longer stopping distances when going 20+mph vs 10-15mph. While my Powerfly 7 has bigger hydraulic brakes than the XM700+ (203mm vs 180mm) the sticky knobby tires still...

Powering an iPhone 7 from an XM700+

I have the Bosche system on my Powerfly 7 and I'm using an adapter from Amazon that gives me a full size USB port, so my aftermarket 12" iPhone lightning cable charges my 7+ It supports OTG functions on android like DACs and that might be what's different with my cable than yours...

    townie ebike extra speed

I went on a ride by myself today where I spent a good amount of time between 22-27mph on some flat or slight downhill sections, and I was keeping up with the cars with no help from the motor at those speeds, only to come upon a mild hill that would cause me to gradually loose speed until I...

    Congrats and enjoy!

    townie ebike extra speed

I think it would drive me nuts to have the trip computer reporting the wrong number of miles traveled just because I used a box to muck with the speed readings and fool the bike into letting me get assist at higher speeds.

    obsolete

I'm not very fit at 55 due to one working lung at high altitude (and chronic tendonitis with fibromyalgia), so climbing is really tough - hence the eBike (Trek Powerfly 7). My wife and I have done a couple of rides that have been 17-25 miles long (27-40km) with 1500-1800 feet of climbing...

Should I buy in Seattle or Denver?

Good advice above - wait to buy in Denver and support to "new" local economy and see what your needs are there.

What do you carry on your bike?

These are heavier than my Park Tool folding hex wrench + Swiss Army knife combo.

Cargo ebike for two adults occasionally

I bet that Pedego Stretch will be a good bike for you and your son, and I'd go for the larger battery if I were you because you'll use higher assist levels as he grows more, as as you commute more. Over memorial Day weekend there was a woman on a small Pedego chasing her husband up and down the...

I hate wearing a helmet on ebikes and I found articles online saying helmets do more harm?

I should finish reading all the posts before I reply to one farther up the thread...

I hate wearing a helmet on ebikes and I found articles online saying helmets do more harm?

I'd go with the fox at the speeds you'll be riding.

    A REAL NOVICE

The Voltbike Enduro is a 55.7lb Bafang motor mid drive factory eBike with dual suspension, with 2" tires and currently priced at $1799 + about $50-60 shipping. My $429 Yakima Hold Up bike rack is rated for two 60lb eBikes. So that should all work in their budget, however I think it only comes...

    Off roading with e-bikes?

Looks like a great ride until the end. I'd consider wearing gloves (and maybe adding kneepads too). How do you have your suspension set up to prevent problems in the future when hitting a rock while compressed? I've turned up my rebound speed on my Powerfly 7 so that my suspension doesn't stack...

    update: Hit and Run

I'd say that it's a hit and run if they leave the scene when you want to call the police, unless they have to leave because they fear for their life after threats from the other party.

    Trek 2018 Bike - Powerfly FS9 LT

It would be nice if they could get it under 45lbs, and fit bottle cage bosses on the smaller sizes. I'm guessing they'll use the 160mm front fork version with 15mm axle, but who knows.

    Trek XM 700+

As far as I know the XM700+ all go 28mph in all the states of the USA (which would be 45.06kph if I recall).
