    Shock Stop Seatpost Finally Here

Yes, because gas-oil struts never fail (reaching to adjust sagging office chair).

2020 FASTROAD E+ EX PRO , Size M , Now in Stock on Giant Website .

Rear thru-axle is an advantage over 2019. Pity about the smaller battery, square taper cranks and resin only rotors

    Explorer +2

I read Robert Pirsig when I was about 20 and realised you don't have to be a great chef to bake a cake; you just need the right mindset. Zinn & the Art of Bicycle Maintenance has traded on the same world view since 1996...

I can make a new chain skip on a new cassette if I stand up and hammer on the 11T cog on a hill. An ebike is putting a equivalent amount of torque on those wee cogs... Two good reasons for spinning a higher cadence - chain wrap is greater on bigger cassette cogs (less chance of skipping), and...

I feel your pain... My fix works great - sometimes when changing a bunch of gears I hear the chain reseat on the chainring after trying to drop and I'm so glad it works. Bugger wrestling with a jammed chain on the side of the road.

Mounting Abus Granit U-Lock on Giant Explore with Photos

Nice tip. Does anyone use a frame lock, like the Axa Victory, with a plug in chain? I'm thinking it would be easier for short stops than fussing with a portable lock.

My Quick E, and another co-worker's, started dropping the chain after a few hundred km. It seems to happen when the chain is slack, often when changing gears quickly from a stand-still, never when under load, regardless of whether the derailleur clutch is on or off. As you noted it's a TOTAL...

    Shock Pump

All shock pumps release air from the hose on disconnection. If you screw the pump back on you'll find you'll have "lost" ~10psi (depending on pump) as the shock pressurizes the hose/pump. You've haven't actually lost much if anything from the shock, on disconnection

Thanks roguex. Look like your shop replaced the original direct mount hanger with a std mount Giant hanger and (re)fitted a B-link to the derailleur. To shift the wheel to the right they have either re-dished it, or the standard hanger might be a bit thinner and they've put some spacer/washer...

When wife's ebike (not a Giant) stopped working I traced the problem to a faulty Hall Effect sensor which detects crank rotation. (Measured the output of the sensor with a volt meter while passing a magnet over it). Ordered and fited a new sensor and was running again within a week. Improved the...

It has a lot more clearance on the drive side CS, always has, yet the wheel dish is spot on. Any chance of a pic of the hanger they installed, pref without QR nut so I can see the profile? I have a bunch of old Giant hangers lying around...

Here's a pic of the stock 2.25 @30psi (~1mm oversize), and another pic of left CS clearance (3-4mm). I'm guessing the BE6 is nowhere near 61mm. Interesting tyre all the same, must be nearly bulletproof at 1050g. Is it hard riding?

That's about twice as much clearance as the stock 2.25 (to the left side chainstay). Must be a very narrow 2.4

    Death Wobble Anyone?

In motorcycling parlance it's called a tank slapper. You can buy dampers to help control it for motorcyles and Hopey used to make them for bikes - http://www.hopey.org/

Excellent pics, thanks CDB - Vaude mounts have a surprising range of adjustment. That is a big bag!

Got my new Explore E+1 GTS today!

Check crank bolts - square taper cranks are notorious for coming loose. Also check and grease the rear wheel dropouts and QR - keep it tight. Other things to check are the derailleur hanger and chainring bolts. Then check the three T30 motor mount bolts are tight.

Thanks; that'd be helpful. I'm looking at alternatives to a backpack, and while a 11L trunk bag would work for normal minimal commute gear, it prob won't work for those days where it feels like you're moving house.
