The Launch Edition does indeed have every option. $47k out the door still seems really high but a lot of that depends on sales tax and financing rate at that point. If they're not charging a "market adjustment", then they're really screwing you on the financing. Did they give you a itemized...

That seems really high, even for the Bolt EUV Premier with every option. But then again, I don't know what your sales tax is. Sounds like they're definitely charging a "market adjustment". A top trim Bolt EUV is less than $38,000 with all options minus dealer fees and taxes.

Do you know how to use that term correctly? 😆 There’s a handful of us here sharing our experiences and overall happiness with electric cars but you’re dismissing that and still saying “it doesn’t work”? Let’s guess who has actual “confirmation bias”. I’m not even here advocating for the death of...

For who? You're making some very general statements. No doubt that EVs are not for everyone. For a large chunk of the population who are able to fully charge while they are sleeping and occasionally do 500 mile roadtrips, EVs are already working. Even apartment dwellers who don't have access...

Oh, I believe you about your climate. I still don't think many folks have a need to haul a trailer daily for long distances. And if you so happen to be a person that requires a vehicle that can tow for hundreds of miles per day, I'll concede that an ICE vehicle will do that job better than an...

You know what’s weird? I’ve seen dozens (yes really) of Rivians and a handful of Lucid Airs but only one other EUV. And this is in California. The car that always makes my head turn is the Ioniq 5 though.

If pulling a trailer in the dead of winter is 95% of your uses, absolutely do no opt for an EV pickup. Even then, pre-conditioning the battery negates a lot of the energy loss. And I highly doubt that most of the population are Ice Road Truckers. This is like telling someone who lives in the...

I've got no skin in the game and am not brand loyal. I've owned Honda, Acura, Volkswagen, Volvo, BMW and Fiat products. They all have their bad and good. It's easy to pop in an article (BTW the author concludes with: "I am not one to tell people what to do, but if it were me, I’d take the...

Our top choices for plug-ins were the Prius Prime and the Tucson plug in. I ruled the Prius Prime off since dealers around here are marking them up significantly. A lot of buyers are paying $38k or more. The Tucson plug-in is still a good value since it offers standard AWD. However, when we...

Chademo is being phased out. The upcoming Nissan Ariya will be using J1772. I don’t know that a J1772 to Chademo adapter exists. I bought a J1772 to Tesla adapter for our Bolt for when we are over at my sister’s place since they have a Model Y.

An article on that: 2023 Chevy Bolt EV is still the best value EV in America, by far.

I really like the Kona (shopping for one for my bro). But we needed the extra rear row space of the EUV for the kids since they're still in bulky car seats. I'm excited to see what else comes out in the near future.

GM made the decision to do the price match. Even customers that bought their 2022 Bolt prior to the 2023 pricing announcement are getting a retroactive check to match the 2023 pricing. Good move and great PR on their part.

Thanks! This is a 2022. When the 2023s pricing was announced, Chevy also dropped the prices of the 2022s to reflect the same. My sister has the Model Y, it’s a fantastic car. I got a Tesla Tap so I can charge at her house when we are over there. 😁

The EV6 is such a cool car. I'd rather have it in Ioniq 5 form though. The Ioniq 5's looks just bring a lot of 80s kid nostalgia back to me.

I have my first hiccup today. Nothing to do with the car but the charging infrastructure. I went to a paid garage this morning that has 5 Level II charging stations. Three of the stations were occupied, one was covered with an out of order sign. The remaining one didn't have a sign but as...

I just got done adding the Bolt to our insurance and can confirm. It's not a big difference at all, and I'm even declaring that I'll be driving a lot more miles annually. The difference is much less than what we'd pay for a tank of gas for our SUV.

I have read that Yes, an electric car is slightly more expensive to insure due to the price of replacement parts (especially the batteries) if they are damaged. They’re also more expensive as an initial purchase compared to a comparable ICE car so the value is higher.
