Differences between ebike chain and regular bike chain...

I have a Bafang BBS02 Mid Drive on one of my FS bikes, and am planning on installing a gear sensor for the same reason. o_O

Differences between ebike chain and regular bike chain...

Agreed, I should have called them mid drive chains... but how do they strengthen them? Thicker links? I'll have my chain in a few days, I can actually measure them then... Meanwhile, I was wondering!

Looking for pic of 22 Vado 4.0 or 5.0 with no fenders or rack

Yeah, technical differences aside, the OP wanted to get some kind of an idea what the bike would look like without fenders, etc... I thought the photos were close enough to give him an idea... Sure in some areas you have to use your imagination, and maybe cover one eye, but if I wanted to remove...

Differences between ebike chain and regular bike chain...

So I built up a Black Cypress with a TSDZ2, 48V 750Watt motor. I suspect the weakest link is the chain. Ha! So I ordered an 8 speed KMC brand ebike chain and some missing links, to have handy for when the original non-ebike chain breaks. So the question I have is, what makes an ebike chain an...

    Your light is bright!

I had it aligned directly for the eyeballs! ha... So here in the first pic it's pointed at the eyeballs... In the second picture, I moved it down a bit!

    Your light is bright!

So I was riding my Vado on the trail yesterday, headlight was on... and when I passed a group of people walking, one of them said, your light is bright. I couldn't figure out if she meant "too bright, turn it off" or "nice and bright, I like it". I didn't turn around to ask... What do you guys...

    Replacing 46t with 52t chainring

So you're saying this dim should be 30-45 degrees at small cog to small cog? Looking at my bikes, I suspect it more like 90 degrees large cog to large cog, and 135 degrees large cog to small cog... But what do I know... I've never played with chain lengths...

A little advice and recommendations please

@kmccune you're right, that one does look weird. But with full suspension, I bet it'll be comfortable!

Build your own DIY electric bike for under $500

I don't think one should try to do the bike and the kit for those crazy low prices. Come on... start with a real bike... my last bike was a Cypress DX, which I bought for $710. Then I bought a Mid Drive kit for $500. Yeah, I reused a battery I already had. So in Micah talk, I spent $500 to...

Build your own DIY electric bike for under $500

@JES2020 Even the mid drive TSDZ2 is fairly easy to do... I looked to see if Micah Toll had a youtube of a TSDZ2 build, but I couldn't find one. So that might confirm what @Gionnirocket said! Ha!

Input for long range commuter build?

@4speed Perfect. That's what I'll use... I printed a template this morning to check my downtube dimensions... the template fits reasonably well. Now to design some kind of a bracket/BOB bar! Ha! I didn't really want to use hose clamps. But some combination of nuts, bolts and cable ties might...

Input for long range commuter build?

@4speed So you used something like this? https://www.amazon.com/Generic-Silicone-Durometer-Commercial-Adhesive/dp/B096N2Q6GM/ref=sr_1_4?crid=620ESOQ9YQJK&keywords=1mm+rubber+sheet&qid=1653747694&sprefix=1mm+rubber+sheet%2Caps%2C94&sr=8-4

What and where can I find this screw/bolt?

Another option is to just get an M4x10, knowing the top will be recessed about 2mm instead of flush with the surface. Then if you know someone with a 3D printer, you could print some plugs.

Opps, I deleted the last photo, because that was the dimension of a socket head cap screw, not a flat head...
