    Looking for a folding ebike

I have a Blix Vika+. The throttle went bad while it was still under warranty. Other than that, it's been rock solid.

    Looking for a folding ebike

I have a 20 inch folder, and a Brompton with the Grin kit. I'm happy with both. If you truly plan on folding and putting it inside vehicles, go test ride a regular Brompton and see how you like it. If you find the ride agreeable, get a two speed version and the grin kit. You can take it almost...

scheduled to ship in Late October.

This would also be a good opportunity to practice changing the tire/tube yourself, if you're not familiar with doing it.

Fast Ebike - Loud Wind In the Ear - Hearing Loss?

I got them strictly for comfort during my commute. The difference in wind noise when I got a class 3 bike was annoying because I couldn't hear cars around me. And these things are relatively cheap, so I figured it was worth the gamble. They're of zero use unless you're going above 20pmh...

Fast Ebike - Loud Wind In the Ear - Hearing Loss?

I've worked up a sweat while wearing them. I've also ridden in the rain with them. Neither of those were an issue. However, I forgot to remove them before I washed my entire helmet, and they got soaked. That's when I ran into a problem the next morning. If you clean them with a wet rag or paper...

Fast Ebike - Loud Wind In the Ear - Hearing Loss?

Wind noise was borderline painful for me above 24mph. I got the windblox and they cut the noise by over half. They made a big difference in being able to hear approaching cars, too. Just be carful about getting them wet, because they can mildew if they don't dry quickly. They're sort of like...

New 2018 Bromptom Electric Bike - Brompton's First eBike

I have the grin kit, and it's fantastic. Don't want to hijack this thread, but there are some caveats for getting the kit installed (throttle placement with the new chunkier brompton brake/shift levers, etc.).

Need a folding e-bike for commuting from home through ferry into NYC

The OEM Brompton Electric is limited to 15mph, and has a fairly small battery which also limits your luggage options. I'm not sure if that meets the OP's needs. That's why I went with the purpose built kit with an S bag. And the bag is one of the main selling points. They mount to the frame, and...

Need a folding e-bike for commuting from home through ferry into NYC

If you're comfortable working on a bike, I'd suggest getting a non-electric brompton and adding a grin kit to it. It'll be the smallest folding bike you can ride on a regular basis, and end up costing about the same as the gocycle. Depending on which voltage battery you use, it'll do 20 or 28mph...

CCS controller replaced; voltages seem off

What did Juiced say when you asked them about it?

    Is a CCX noisy?

That plate is the torque arm. It helps keep the motor from spinning inside the dropouts, and ruining your frame. You definitely need to reattach that.

    52V CCX / RCS - Will generic 48V "Dorado +" battery work?

Juiced uses a standard positive/negative connection for their batteries. There are no proprietary electrics involved. So you can add any 52V battery you want, so long as you get the right connectors, and figure out a way to mount it (triangle bag, pannier, helmet, whatever). On my Air, that's a...

Juiced bikes - do they use standard battery type / mount?

The main thing you have to watch out for is the battery length. I have a Juiced bike, and I think they use one of the shorter Dorado battery lengths. The difference isn't large enough to discern in pictures, so make sure you have the exact measurements of any replacement pack. I suppose you...

    Changing tires

In addition to these tips, I'd also recommend looking at carrying a can of bike fix-a-flat and a simple plastic shopping bag. The can is about the size of a soda can. It totally kept me from having to do any repairs, when I got a flat from a stone that looked like a tiny railroad spike. Then, if...

If the version 2 is wider, couldn't you use a shim along with the old seatpost?

2021 Class 3 Commuter Ebikes Thread: A Comprehensive Listing

This does seem to be an underserved market segment. Maybe it has to do with the fact that most of the world treats class 3 differently than places like the US? Does it cost more to produce a class 3 bike? And does that cost outweigh the company's sales forecast? And I have no idea if 28MPH is...

Pilot seeking the right ebike, newbie ?

Depending on your budget, you may want to look into buying a non-electric Brompton, and adding a Grin kit. Bromptons feel remarkably close to a full size bike when you ride them. And they'd be easier to fit into any type of vehicle.

Help deciding between CCS and CCX

I live in the Seattle area, and have a CC Air with the 48V/19.2 battery. I began with a 10.4 battery. Get the CCX, if no other reason than the bigger battery. It makes a tons of difference in the cold weather.

Known Issues & Problems with Magnum Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I couldn't give you an exact number. There are a lot of factors that go into measuring a bike's performance and power. But, if you have another bike to use as a comparison, you should be able to draw your own conclusions. In my case, I had another 36V, 350w, 20" wheel bike to compare it with...

Known Issues & Problems with Magnum Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I had a similar issue with my Premium 48 a while back, except mine was labelled 250 watts. They told me mine was mislabeled as well. I ended up returning mine, and it was a hassle getting my money back. Eventually, Amazon had to intercede on my behalf. I'd suggest making sure the wheel size is...
