    Happy wife, Happy Life!

You keep twisting the words. They have sold *MANY* e-bikes. They have sold *ZERO* 5.0 IGH models. Ironically, there was one 5.0 IGH vado sitting in the store yesterday. I asked if they sold others, and they said "Nope! this one was sold somewhere else, it's in for service". Didn't ask what it...

Already out of my hands. I totally would have done that though! One of the refunds is already processing.

Because the cranks come pre-installed on the bike. Not pedals, handlebars, wheels etc. Ask any dealer about it. But, the problem isn’t the cranks, its the IGH system not being recognized by mastermind. And it’s all a moot point. Bikes are in process of being returned.

Ha! Point in your favor! I built that one.

Are you mad that an FLX Blade 2.0 works fine and specialized has had 4 attempts with 3 failures?

Man, there are some snowflakes around here. Anyway, returns are initiated. Maybe try again next season?

My state is 645,000 people. The entire state. If specialized wants to eliminate dealerships because they don't meet sales quota, that's fine. It's their call. But it would be another showing of ignorance on their part, and yours. You can't sell to people that don't exist. You can only hurt the...

See, there is your bias. Why should a small scale LBS go get training (that we don't know even exists) for a bike model that they have sold to exactly one customer. Why shouldn't specialized be expected to support that one customer as needed? Specialized at least as economies of scale on their...

Specialized is free to send a tech to this LBS and correct the supposed poor behavior. The poor behavior that no one can point to and say "Had the builder done X we wouldn't be here." You know, since no one actually knows *how to fix it*. If this statement is a real statement, and it can be...

The shop manager here said exactly the same thing. I have watched him do it to mine and others bikes on many occasions. 15 IGH 5.0 or 3 and 4 included. Remember, these problems may exclusively be 5.0 problems.

The LBS didn't sell me anything. I went on to specialized site and clicked order and paid and sent to LBS. I then got a shipping and tracking info. So, the only way that happened is if the LBS swapped bikes (not entertaining this). Mileage was sub 3 when I got it. For a bike my LBS explicitly...

There will be no moving on from them for reasons stated earlier. And this still isn’t them. Specialized themselves can’t diagnose and fix it either. Remember, the shop is only doing what specialized support is telling them to do. What specialized support is telling them to do isn’t fixing the...

Truth. Just want to point out that your big vado may be able to charge the wahoo from the usb port on it. Never needs to leave the bike. At least the mastermind models can do that. I do think that electronic shifting on an e-bike needs to be wired in or it is a serious missed opportunity...

Just want to comment on this separately. Because I find it intellectually interesting. Yes, but unlike motors, the value of the energy sources that drive the curve change from minute to minute. A motor will have essentially a fixed input energy source. The human body's balance of energy sources...

Yet you own automatic vehicles alongside your manual. There is no denying the "fun" engagement of manual (at least not to me). But it's still not the only thing you drive. I suspect people will be more surprised when they try an automatic IGH bike than not. The peaceful bliss alone is striking...

I have not. I don’t even see it on trek’s site. Is it available in the US?

So basically weight shifting at speed instead of for technical trail stuff. So, that's a no for me. I suspect I would be better off with a kinect suspension post there on my roads. I am not ready for drop bars though. Even just the hoods make me crazy. On another aside: Pathfinder tires have...

Still, question stands. In all my dirt road, gravel riding here in vermont, I have never at any point thought "Ohhh, dropper seat makes this better".

Yeah, it's not for everyone. But technology has improved it to the point where people either simply love their manual stuff (and for the record, I get that and was that guy once) or have very specific desires (like above acceleration situation) where an automatic simply may not comply exactly as...

I am not sure you have driven a contemporary automatic recently. A lot of these cars now have 7-10 gears. The systems in them manage the gearing much differently than older automatics. My volvo, for example, was smart enough to downshift in those scenarios (I think they even have a name for it...
