Anyone have experience with SRAM Eagle Transmission on any Specialized e-bike?

Actually, their specs are inconsistent. It claims a gx cassette but that is only on xd hubs. But the hub claims to be hg. Which, as far as I can tell, no version of the 1275 cassette is hg compatible. None of that is the point though. SRAM has a new transmission drivetrain. It is only...

Anyone have experience with SRAM Eagle Transmission on any Specialized e-bike?

The turbo levo/sl and kenovo/sl as well as the tero x all have udh. Has anyone put sram transmission on them and can provide an experience report? I am looking at getting a tero X and then putting on an X0 transmission drivetrain. I still don't love chains, but what I don't love about the ones...

    Pinion Motor.Gearbox.Unit (MGU)

This one seems pretty exciting. My one comment at this time: People need to separate implementation from concept. Conceptually, this is brilliant. Implementation could be another thing. If this thing ends up reliable, it will be fantastic. Time will tell. Will it make riding better? For those...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

I can definitely validate that the SL beats the vado in this particular event. ;) Apparently, specialized needs to make bike boats now.

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

The original plan was gx axs upgrade with an nx eagle cassette and a chainring/crank change. I am simply not confident 26->20 gear inches will close that gap. In any scenario, I would be going slower than I was, but may be able to maintain the effort.

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

It's not probably. It's simply a choice. I can input *exactly the same amount of power* from me whether I am on a vado, an SL or a sirrus. If I input the same power, the only difference will be how far I go in the same amount of time based on the power settings (or lack there of) of the motor...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

Sure, but if you are pushing the limits of range on a full vado on terrain you can't handle on a vado SL, you have but two options: 1) That route is unobtanium for you. Don't do it. or 2) put a second full vado battery in a pannier. I mean, you own both bikes for a reason. Right? The full vado...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

Or you spend the same amount of time but go further. See more things. I honestly wouldn't put it that way. I used my vado to haul my toddler in a burley trailer with the motor off. The planted feeling of the heavier bike became a benefit in that scenario. That was one thing that really...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

Yay belt drive! No, I still want the fitness aspect. But it also can't be so hard that my soul is sucked out of me (like this morning). The way I challenged myself on the vado is I said: "Let me try and do this ride in eco only". Or a really hard ride without any turbo. And, of course, there are...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

This makes perfect sense. But I would also reverse this in the case of the full vado. If the vado feels like it's pulling you with the motor, just decrease the power with micro adjust levels (your SL should have it as well). My experience is *any* e-bike that is giving you more power than needed...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

I know this is an e-bike forum. What I am going to post here is why e-bikes are amazing. I just did my first "real" ride on the Sirrus X 4.0. 7.46 miles in 1 hour and 6 minutes including a stop for a muffin and rests on some hills. The pause break (to buy said muffin) was 8-10 minutes. 58...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

Nah, more responding to stefan’s unicorn comments. I like pushing his buttons. I have been fighting with him since Specialized screwed up the first bike. I don't really get offended. I was entirely with you on your logic. I was exactly the same way. The thought of spending more than what you...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

This is actually one reason I have backed off to regular bikes. I am hoping to get there. I have a 7ish mile route that I love. If I can get that done on a normal bike, it will be great for me. I won’t have the time to do those 20 mile routes I did on the vado even if I can physically handle...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

True. There are 103 mid drive gravel ebikes on 99spokes.com. Consider it replaced with the canyon grail on cf 7. Bosch 60+nm with 500w battery. I picked gravel because most of those bikes will be comparable weight to the vado sl. I am sure you will have problems with all 103 bikes. Because...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

This bike is admittedly hard to beat on price point. However, there are a number of bikes available that have more power for similar weight (or less). For me, price is not my limiting factor, and there are, quite frankly, quite a few bikes that are relatively light *and* more powerful than the...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

That's a failure in understanding future technology. Motors are getting more efficient and lighter constantly. Meaning: the battery (the biggest weight cost) doesn't need to increase dramatically to retain near the same range. Finally, Specialized already solved this with the extenders...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

I can speak to the sirrus X 4.0 from only a few rides. But, it's a whole different level of fun. My biggest complaint continues to be the way chains work. I am about to upgrade it to gx AXS. But I would go to X0 Transmission if the frame was UDH compatible. If I didn't live in this hilly hell...

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

It’s mid. And it is a great bike. But I can also see why people are a bit obsessed with lighter bikes. The vado SL has a sense of fun. My sirrus x is even more “fun” but what I can do with it here is highly limited. So it’s a balancing act.

A quick ride review of the Vado SL 4.0

It's fairly relative. I don't have a ride I can do that doesn't involve sections of climbs in the 8-12% range. If I leave my house, getting back to it involves some amount of that grade no matter which direction I go. On the vado SL, those climbs don't remain enjoyable for me. They are *hard*...

    Happy wife, Happy Life!

I was prepared to accept it for this pair of bikes until my wife’s came broken. In my head, it was going to be no worse than my first vado. Once it started effecting our family rides (meaning we couldn’t go on them because a bike is in the shop), my wife asked for a normal bike for that single...
