    Bafang G062 / G063 Info

Dyno session is finally done 😃 Modified G062 motor running 60v (16s) 90A Battery DC (114A 2-3sec peak). https://ebikes.ca/projectgallery/high-power-fat-bike-with-water-cooled-g062-motor-finland-preview Dyno run was done at (pratkapaja.fi) on DynoJet 250i inertia dyno. Because of dyno setting...

    Bafang G062 / G063 Info

I'm currently getting exactly same 0-30 mph acceleration as Sur-Ron light Bee X. Also like to use the pedals. My bike is also kinda legal (L1E-A, 1000w motor) and has been insured as one.

    Bafang G062 / G063 Info

I'm waiting for the dyno to be be calibrated during this week. The shop is just as eager to get experience on ebikes 😀 About the strada, Yes. As I did the mods I had to undo the winding connections and brush and clean all individual strands. There are 15 copper strands each 0,55mm. I'm sure...

    Bafang G062 / G063 Info

6T has lower phase resistance than 6.5T. I have had no problems with winding temps (highest peak just 130°C) but wiring inside axle got burned on previous configuration. Also 4mm2 L1019 phases got hotter than I would like.

    Bafang G062 / G063 Info

Currently running both water and air cooled modded G062 with 8 awg phases. I'm using both L10 & MT60 for phase connectors. My bike on this link. DYNO day coming soon. https://ebikes.ca/projectgallery/high-power-fat-bike-with-water-cooled-g062-motor-finland-preview

Running Modded G062 at 60v 114 peak battery amps. Phase amps ~ 200A peak. 😁

    Bafang G063 1000 watt motor.

Easy way is to use common Rad KT 35A mod by changing the controller side motor cable into L1122. Not too hard.

    Rad Rover 60v 64A (4000w) regen

Removed all magnets. Then cleaned and sanded all surfaces before gluing them back on with Permabond ET5441. Afterwards heat treated the gluing. Did not replace any magnets. Magnets are strong and somewhat fragile. They should be handled one by one avoiding dropping them. Never Stack them. I...

    Rad Rover 60v 64A (4000w) regen

The gluing of magnets failed at 4000w mark (heat and magnetic forces). Slightly upgraded motor wiring failed at 7000w mark. Besides cooling the motor venting cools nylon gears so they can take lot more torque. Also very important to use lots of good grease like shc100 or Mobil 28. I have welded...

    Rad Rover 60v 64A (4000w) regen

This version runs 60v 114A peak (DC). Well over 200A phase.

    Rad Rover 60v 64A (4000w) regen

Cannot say 100% sure but I would say the casing did not get too hot to though for second...at least for big margin. I have increased power alot while vent holes in place so lack comparison. My estimate is ~2000w average for 30min is ok. I have not tested high speeds for longer times. I have...

    Rad Rover 60v 64A (4000w) regen

Thanks. Venting can help upto 100% but I'm not sure how big the effect now actually is. I would guess in range of 50%....both sides drilled identically. Aluminium tape is temporary thing. I will remove those. Maximum recorded peak winding temp is ~125°C (105-110°C peaks typically). Goal is to...

    Rad Rover 60v 64A (4000w) regen

Casing temperature does not really follow the winding temp that much. Long steady ride makes least difference between the two. I've seen >60°C difference (IR measurement from casing). Winding temp 100°C and I can keep my hand on the motor casing as long as I wish. This power gives 0-30mph in 3.9s.

    Rad Rover 60v 64A (4000w) regen

Yes, running still stock nylon gears. They hold well if not subjected to extensive heat. I have vented the motor and using SHC100 grease. Also I do avoid extreme acceleration from death stop. First thing that failed was the gluing of rotor magnets. That was after some time running at 60A (~130A...

Serious controller kit 40A 60v for G062 motor upgrade.

Hi Kelley. I have small batch coming in in few weeks. These kits are already sold though. I've been busy with other stuff so this hobby has gotten less time. I will order some more kits later. Currently I'm trying to find time to get my latest G062 motor modifications ready. Already pushing 60v...

    Rad Rover 60v 64A (4000w) regen

Magnet glue failed after very regular route. Not too much hills but speed and acceleration. 1000 Miles similar riding in The past. Winding temps ~100°C, Air cooling effective. Peak phase 130+(maybe even 150). L1019 connector with 4mm2 wiring has not failed. Only wire part (~ 4 inches) that goes...

    Rad Rover 60v 64A (4000w) regen

The motor had already some mods on it when the glue on magnets failed after some 1000 miles at ~4kw mark. Not sure of exact phase amps but 130+ something. The clutch has not failed but I have modded it to prevent failure. I tested regen braking. It works but as it massively adds strain to...

    G062.1000.DC motor MOD

Yeah. Statorade is excellent for gearless hubs. Geared hubs have outer shell that works as insulation. For that reason its not that good on this situation. I have still considered maybe trying for minor effect. I have some other idea as well. ATF between core and shell work but there are...
