    Need suggestions for fast ebike

I was also looking for a drop bar ebike. I come from a roadie background and the riding position seems much more natural. Also, my arthritic thumbs don't enjoy the thumb shifters. I narrowed it down to the Trek CrossRip+ and the Yamaha Wabash. I ended up purchasing the Wabash for under $3K and...

    Noisy Motor

You're right. The Wabash comes with a PW-SE motor. I don't remember the scraping noise when I first bought the bike, it was more of a hum. The hum has turned into a scrape and it's getting louder. I've emailed the dealer (60 miles away) and am waiting for a response.

    Noisy Motor

I purchased my Wabash about 3 weeks ago. I have been riding it quite a bit (love it) and currently have 350+ miles on it. Lately I have noticed that with little load on the motor, it makes a scraping sound that has been getting worse. It occurs in all boost levels but I notice it most in ECO+...

    Hello from Fort Collins, CO

Oh Richard, there are lots of great hills around town. For a real challenge try the Horsetooth Dam Road, Bingham Hill, or ride to Masonville. A bit further south is the Carter Lake climb, Carter Valley, and if you're really feeling frisky the Pinewood climb. But as steep as these may be, I feel...

Trek adopts MIK (Basil) rack system

Yesterday I ordered that bag from Aliexpress for my wife's Electra Loft before I even read this thread. She was looking at the Trek dealer where we bought the bike but no way were we paying what they wanted for the Bontrager bag. Now we'll see when it arrives off the "slow boat from China".

No, actually SPD clipless. The problem was too steep of a rocky climb and I couldn't release fast enough. I also scratched my new bike and it won't heal as my leg eventually will. :(

    What does Bluetooth do?

Thanks Cat. It certainly had me stumped and I had given up. Although I don't use Strava now, I may in the future. Whether it's worthwhile to transfer the data, that's another question.

Sizing + Urban Rush and Wabash

I’ve been tracking battery usage vs mileage on my Wabash and its been pretty consistent at 1% per mile. That’s the average over 190 miles. I ride pretty consistently in Eco (level 2 boost) but pop it into STD on a steep climb. At that rate I’d feel confident doing 60-70 miles without a fill up.

    What does Bluetooth do?

Your Google Foo must be better than mine. The only results I get are for tuner apps to remove the 20 mph limit.

Yamaha Wabash Gravel eBike - [Video]

It’s no so much the seat as I use the pedals to take the weight off the saddle. The jarring from the bars is more of a problem as I can’t very well release my grip over the rough spots.

Yamaha Wabash Gravel eBike - [Video]

I love my Wabash. I’ve had it 4 days and already have 160 miles on it. I’m 72 and the bike makes me feel at least 20 years younger. I ride pretty much in level 2 boost (Eco) and only go level 3 (Std) on a very steep climb. I’ve yet to need to to full level 4 (High). Yes, it jars your teeth if...

    What does Bluetooth do?

I’m also waiting for an answer. I asked my dealer and he said it’s for diagnostics. I call BS. They can use the USB port for diagnostics. I get the impression that it will pair with a cardio or tracking app but I can’t find one with the Yamaha name.

    PW-SE clunky pedal engagement.

I’m interested in what you found out regarding the “clunk”. I recently purchased a ‘19 Wabash which has the PW-SE drive unit. After my test rides I mentioned that the bike had quite a cluck when coming off a coast and engaging the motor. Of course his response was “they all do that”. I did...

Known Issues & Problems with Yamaha Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I just purchased a '19 Wabash and love it. I'm wondering about the info displayed regarding the battery. Yesterday I rode 40 miles, mostly in Eco and a bit in Std, and at the end the display said battery was 56% so I used 44%. That's about 1% per mile. The question was that the Distance said 26...

Sizing + Urban Rush and Wabash

I actually rode a Bulls Grinder before I was even shopping for an ebike. My wife was out test riding a bike and the shop owner suggested I take out his personal Grinder just for grins. I was quite impressed with the bike, even though it was a bit tall for me. I took it up some trails on a ski...
