Rode our first ebikes/May need to cancel R1U

Hope Ride1up fixes your problem soon. I am no bike mechanic. Sound on video while pedaling sounded like the cassette to me. I don't think they are very expensive. The sound on the other bike definitely sounded like someting rubbing, probably brakes. I might change out the brake pads (sometimes...

    R1up 700 500 watt motor vs 1000

I have read that Rad often exagerates the power of their motors. That other companies said a motor was 500/ 750 peak and rad advertised it as 750. I found some independent tests of various bafang and other chinese e bike motors on line. I think there are several factors to take into account...

Affordable Step Through Bike for City

My discount code is ESPINSQUAD-ANZTFK. (It is $50.00 off). Whatever bike you get I hope you enjoy it. We have three e bikes now, my daughters Lectric xp step thru (we got that bike because she is only 5'4" and only rides shorter distances), my Espin Sport and my son's Ride1up 500. We liked our...

Affordable Step Through Bike for City

Yes the Espin flow comes with a nice adjustable suspension fork. The bike was easy to put together. There is a video on line. 90 percent already constructed They also send you a nice set of portable bike tools. You have to install front tire, which is easy with quick release, you install...

Affordable Step Through Bike for City

We have the Ride1up 500 and an Espin Sport. The Sport is the same as the Flow but the Flow is step thru. Bikes are similar. I think the Espin is more comfortable for me, I am 5 foot 8. They have similar components but I like the look of the Espin better, more concealed battery, and I like the...

    Class 3 bike

To be liable in any accident you have to be negligent. Did you violate a duty of care to someone, and if you did, was your negligence the proximate cause of their injury ? In plainer English, was your screw up the cause of someone getting hurt ? For example, was your going too fast the cause of...

    Class 3 bike

Most places with limits, including National Parks, just want you to ride it without throttle. As long as you are pedaling and not going faster than 20 mph I doubt they will bother you.

Help Choose EBike for Short Person 4’11 Looking for Low Saddle Height

We have an Lectric XP step thru that my 5'4" daughter rides. It has 20 inch fat tires and seems quite sturdy, not wobbly. I agree the xp handle bar seems short but for less than $30 you can easily replace it. They are heavier than my other e bikes.

Ebike makers: winners and losers in 5-7 years?

We have bought several e bikes from direct to consumer companies for less than $1500 each and we are happy with them. They are fine for our intended use, i.e., errands, recreational riding. My daughter uses hers for her short commute to work. We have access to several mobile bike shops and my...

Rode our first ebikes/May need to cancel R1U

Thanks for the update. I know you must be frustrated. I think you have a window to return your bikes and get a refund. I am no bike mechanic. If mine made some loud sound and it was not the brakes, chain, shift, spokes or other easy fix I would return it.

Help Choose EBike for Short Person 4’11 Looking for Low Saddle Height

Seems like a smaller step thru would work. An Lectric xp step thru would fit smaller rider, is cheap and height is adjustable. Aventon sells smaller frames, like a pace 350 or pace 500. Look for postings on bikes for shorter riders.

Trying to figure out what type of ebike will be best

FYI I understand Pedego sells some reasonably priced bikes and REI has its own brand if you live near an REI store. I have not ridden those bikes.

    Espin Nero or Lectric XP

Nero delivery delayed about two weeks. Not surprising. My other bikes same thing. We should get delivery early November. Scheduled to arrive in Port by end of October and then some time to clear customs and ship. Will let you know when we get ours.
