Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

We're the same weight. I can't recall which spring I'm using but will check when I get back from the trip I'm on at this time.

For riding on paved roads, the Redshift is the answer. It is much more "floaty" than the other popular posts. Mine smooths out pavement cracks, tar strips, and other roughness very well. They even market it as being more for road riding.

It's not actually "in series" -- take a look at the disassembly instructions. Definitely referred to as a "Booster" spring in the videos.

FWIW, I just did some comparative measurements on the bikes in question and have determined that I don't need to change the stem -- it's OK on height. That's good because with the light mount, etc., there was no clean solution. But I will need to get a different seat (which I was planning on...

Thank you, Dr. Mikes, for being able to diagnose me without ever having laid eyes on me. Perhaps you might write a book.

@Stefan Mikes Thanks. I had found something similar by K-Edge, but a lot more expensive. There is a drawback I can see with this type of mount but it might be the best that's currently available. On the stem issue, bike fit is a very personal thing and the same setup will never work for all...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

@Stefan Mikes I just did a bunch of searching of this thread regarding an alternative mount for the 5.0 Lezyne headlight if the stem is changed, and there were so many posts with back-and-forth etc that I was not sure if a final solution was reached. From what I gather, the solution is to use a...

Stefan, I will probably never ride as much in a week as you do in a day! And about the Futureshock, it's too early to tell and I also don't have anything to compare it with since I never rode with the the 4.0-style fork. It seemed to be a bit stiffer than I had envisioned, but I have the options...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Sorry for the long post, but I’ve been waiting to get my SL 5.0 for literally two years, and then after I finally got it I had to wait a month before I was medically cleared to ride it. So after my first couple of rides I wanted to give my first impressions and analysis of what I’ve learned...

Turbo Vado SL EQ Step Thru Geometry

I had this trouble when I was just looking around at the bikes, and found that my problem was that I was not standing in the correct position. What I was doing was standing next to the bike facing forwards and then trying to lift my leg sideways over the step-thru frame. That was definitely...

Has anyone put carbon rims on a Vado SL 5.0 EQ Step-Thru?

Are you sure about #1? According to the Specialized web site, the Vado SL 5.0 has front and rear hub widths of 110mm and 148mm, which is what "Boost" sizing is (at least according to my understanding). Non-boost hubs would be 100mm and 142mm.

Over50's Specialized Turbo Vado SL 5 EQ (& Como SL 5) Chronicles

@Rincon Reviving an old post, does the Anatomica allow you to shift positions a bit on the seat, or does it lock you into one position? Being able to shift occasionally is helpful for my comfort.

Has anyone put carbon rims on a Vado SL 5.0 EQ Step-Thru?

I also get annoyed in many forums when my question is answered with a question. That said, I don't have any experience to relate but will be following the responses here since I might also consider some aftermarket wheels, probably after my first year with the bike. I remember enjoying spec'ing...

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

Not difficult at all using a hex wrench from the back side of the crank arm, although it depends on how tight the mechanic installed them at the shop. The important thing to remember is that the left-side pedal uses left-hand threads, meaning that you loosen and tighten it opposite the usual...

Alarm working? (Turbo Vado 4 2022)

Since my SL 5.0 preceded this latest update, I'm sure that it simply doesn't have the hardware to sound an alarm.

It still looks like it would take a longer cable, plus it would not route as cleanly due to the curve it would have to take. But maybe we should just wait and see if someone with a ST will get one and report back.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

I can see the big savings in the forks since that's a big chunk of metal with various internal parts, but doubt that skimping on the external components is going to save much. The savings can be a lot for the carbon-framed roadies who get ecstatic about saving a couple hundred grams, but I don't...

What you don't see in that photo are the thin wires that are suspending the bike from the tree that he is standing under. :D On my regular Vado 4.0, the only noise comment that I got was about the rear hub freewheel when not pedaling, but am not sure if the SL is louder. My wife's Trek is quiet...
