Anyone have experience with SRAM Eagle Transmission on any Specialized e-bike?

I'm pretty sure that I listened to a podcast where a guy from SRAM explained the system in such a way that it somehow *does* know the position of the cassette and then moves the derailleur at just the right time to catch the ramps. I'll do some digging on this when I get a chance...

New Vado SL 4.0 - harsh ride!

+1 on the Redshift products. My SL 5.0 rides like a dream now (came with the FutureShock front fork so just the ShockStop seat post needed). New wheels and tubeless tires on the horizon.

Are Vado SL Stock Hubs ('Specialized Alloy') Rebadged DT hubs?

Thanks. I figured that that might work. I also saw a YT video where the guy used some dental floss wrapped around the pawls, tightened to get them to drop in, and then pull out the floss. But try the easy way first!

Are Vado SL Stock Hubs ('Specialized Alloy') Rebadged DT hubs?

Is there a technique for reassembling it to get the pawls back inside the ring gear?

Are Vado SL Stock Hubs ('Specialized Alloy') Rebadged DT hubs?

For me it's that I find the OEM hub to be excessively noisy and have had comments from people riding next to me about it. I'm currently considering having a custom wheel build done using something quieter. My other two bikes -- a Felt VR5 road bike and an old Specialized Crosstrail hybrid -- are...

NBD Here is my Specialized Turbo Tero X 6.0

Nobody would refer to our roads as "gravel". Our landscape consists mostly of "glacial till" and contains clay, sand, coarse gravel, and rocks of all sizes. Unless the roads have been recently graded, there are often washouts from water running across, a lot of washboarding that will shake your...

NBD Here is my Specialized Turbo Tero X 6.0

That's exactly the type of e-bike that I could use for riding the miles and miles of rough dirt roads that are available to me. Riding them on my Vado 4.0 and now Vado SL 5.0 was/is not that practical due to the condition of the roads and the tires on those bikes, so I rarely do it. The...

    2023 Trek Fx+ and Dual Sport+

Before we took the plunge on e-bikes, my wife and I rented a pair from a Pedego store while vacationing in Tucson. That was my issue exactly, as I couldn't figure out when to expect a sudden non-proportional boost from the hub motor. The bikes also had throttles, which were kind of fun to use on...

We shall see where the future leads Specialized----8% layoffs

About every company that had boom times during the pandemic and shortly afterward is facing sales slowdowns and laying people off: GoPro, Peloton, REI, Specialized, Zoom, etc., etc.

Multi-day trip w/ range extenders only (flying)

When you say "flying with a Creo" do you mean that you are removing the main battery and just taking range extenders in your carry-on or something? I'm surprised the bike would work without the main battery. I'm in a similar but different situation. I'm driving but will not be able to charge...

Covering battery connections on Specialized Turbo Vado 3.0 when battery is not attached

My wife's Trek uses a standard Bosch external battery and we found a rubber plug tailor-made for covering the contacts when the battery is removed. Specialized is more mfr-specific and there might not be something specifically for it.

    Trim bars on Vado SL

@Stefan Mikes I must have been thinking of your original Vado.

    Trim bars on Vado SL

With the bell, Garmin mount, and headlight switch my bars are getting crowded for sure (but nothing like @Stefan Mikes 😄). In any case, I installed SQLab's inner bar-ends and will see how that feels before deciding if I should knock some width off as well.

Downgrade Vado SL to Class 1?

I think I've gotten my SL up to about 25mph a couple of times in Turbo mode but that's about it. Seems like the riding position on a Creo would yield a couple additional mph? My previous bike -- a Vado 4.0 -- would hit the 28mph cutoff but even that took non-insignificant effort on my part!

    Headlight switch for Vado SL

Yes, I soldered them for sure! These connectors snap together very firmly and my connections seem every bit as good as the OEMs.

    Headlight switch for Vado SL

I'm not going to belabor my reasons for wanting this, but I do find bike headlights to be distracting if not downright annoying when used on MUPs in the daytime with mixed traffic. Anyway, after having a switch on my Vado 4.0 I've been wanting to put one on my Vado SL 5.0 since I got it and...

New Firmware for multiple bikes. Only updatable via the bike shop

I got the same email. Problem is, I just got my bike down into my shop for winter storage plus some stuff to modify on it so I won't get it to the LBS until next Spring.

Downgrade Vado SL to Class 1?

There was a Class 1 sticker in the packet that came with the bike. :)

Downgrade Vado SL to Class 1?

That's always been my point about the class definitions. If I'm riding at a reasonable speed on a MUP -- which I always do -- why would it matter what my theoretical top speed is? After all, my car's top speed is way higher than the speed that I drive around my neighborhood. My main reason for...
