    Suspension vs. Bigger Tires

As has been noted, you can get by with a suspension but I'd bet you will be happier with one. I put larger tires on my bike and it helps but as I've noted before, hitting a decent hole at 20 plus mph can be jarring. I plan on suspension with my next bike.

The therapeutic value of ebiking for people with anxiety or depression

Exercise (which ebiking most certainly is) has been known to help many with their anxiety.

E-Bikes and these China Tariffs - 'food for thought'

I refuse to believe we can not build a profitable bike here in the price range many of these sell in. ie: 3K plus. The 250 V $400? O.K.

Powering You Ebike Using Portable Tool Batteries

When I was trying to finish mine up I came here for some advice. I was told to try out the motor with a tool battery if I had one. I have a 40 volt electric motor. It worked great on my 36 vote wheel. I was surprised at how far it took me. With it's relatively small size it would be a good...

    Veego 750

I think it's a cool looking little bike. I know nothing about it BUT I will note it's built close to how I built mine. I have hit 22 with mine. (I'm 180). My son is 130, he can easily hit 25. I'm using generic Chinese parts and this being purposely built the numbers are believable. I like it.

    I've only had positive remarks.

Ebike counting ... how many today?

I've only seen two besides mine ever. I've only seen those two one time. One was last year and the other the year before that.

Late-Life intro to bikes? (Fear of bikes...)

We do not know your wife. I'll ad this but it may have nothing to do with our situation. I can get my wife to do things away from people she knows far quicker than I can at home. She worries way to much what the people she knows will think. I try and respect that. I built myself an ebike and...

How Many Have Received Fines for Class 3?

IMO for the vast majority of people no one cares as long as you aren't a jerk. There are small pockets where people think they have to control everything you do but they are small pockets. You might run into issues on Federal posted trails but again, not an issue for most.

    Ariel Rider M Class Questions

I can't address any of the questions but one. I have a 20 inch bike that I put larger tires on and yes, it can be jarring. Irregular sidewalks aren't too bad. 10-15mph not too bad. I hit a hole probably not more than 4-5 inches across going 15-20 mph. It got my attention.

    Help me out here

Appears to be well done. You won't get both 100 miles and 20 mph. That said Harry S is very close on the cost to build it. Do it yourself.

How Important are Disc Brakes for a Heavy Rider?

I've rode a motorcycle with manual drum brakes for years so mechanical disc brakes are like some sort of amazing future technology to me.

Actually, ebikes will get you much LESS exercise

I didn't build mine for the exercise so if I get any (I do) it's simply a bonus. I built it as a cheap, quiet mode of local transportation, so either way, I'm good.

Shocke Bikes Spark - battery problems and company out of business

Interesting info on the crowd funding thing. (I do not believe the tariffs will last long). That said .....you now need to go further along and check the wiring and controller. It seems your battery should be good. Make sure the connections at the battery are good and clean. Obvious stuff...

Shocke Bikes Spark - battery problems and company out of business

Before spending a bunch of money you need to start here. Get a cheap tester and see if there is voltage. That won't rule out a bad battery but it will give you a place to start. I've not seen replacement batteries that look like that one.

    Folding and/or commuting ebike suggestions

I built a folding bike and here is my one suggestion. Generally these are 20 inch bikes tops. Some even smaller. With the small wheels and no suspension combined with 250 pounds and 15 mph, when you hit a hole in the road they can be teeth jarring. After building this one, I will build...

Buying an e-bike on-line: some considerations for decision making

I don't see it this way and I say that as someone that built their own. I understand a dealer getting frustrated at someone that bought online to save a few bucks then wanting a local dealer to take care of the issues that pop up. Obviously that does not affect you as you can take care of...

Buying an e-bike on-line: some considerations for decision making

Nice write up. I generally try and do business with local owners but in my case there are none. I built mine and for most people it's the first e-bike they have seen. Nearest dealer is two plus hours away. I got some good help here in finishing mine up but without question it's an easier road...

    Throttle questions...

My thought is that if they are selling something that is only good for light use, it's not worth buying. Of course something isn't likely to last as long with hard use. While I am actually pretty new with actual riding I read quite a bit before getting my own. Seems to me there are many riding...
