    Winter doldrums

Suppose to be 50 plus in a day or so...........I had it out on a night Christmas Lights ride the city regularly holds but not much other than that. It did force me to get lights which my wife had bugged me to do. it wasn't too cold (near 30) and no snow.

E-bike bursts into flames on Australian hill climb

Nothing is perfect. Lady I work with just had her electric meter on her house short and burst into flames. Luckily the damage was limited to the meter and surrounding wall. I'm not going to get rid of or overly worry about my electric meter and this won't stop me from riding.

Technically speaking A bat. Capacity is 40% less then advertised

Life's too short for me to worry about this. Charge, ride, repeat. If at some point in the future the battery isn't lasting as long as my rides (so far that isn't even close to happening), I'll replace it.

    Forum fears

I had a 2012 VW TDI. (I do have a point here). I really wanted one but was apprehensive after reading the VW forums. VW did have an issue with the HPFP (high pressure fuel pumps) grenading and sending crap all through the fuel system. It wasn't always covered as VW blamed it on poor diesel...

This was discussed concerning Wal Mart the other day. Search for nearly anything and Wal Mart will come up. It will note on the site order page "Not for Pickup".

    Battery

You can't based upon the info you posted but I believe you know that. "I bought a new pair of shoes. How long will they last"?

    Juiced Bikes Electric Skateboards

Couple people in town have these (mine is the only bike). They seem to zip along at a pretty good speed. (Faster than I want to go on one).

    DIY or Bike Shop?

Wasn't really my point.........I understand how hard it is for a bike shop to survive but seems to me that they should provide ready to go bikes unless you prefer otherwise for some reason. "All you have to do is add the coolant to the unit and put the door and shelves in and the...

Bike, trike, IMO it doesn't matter. There is so much you miss when in a car.

    Walmart is now carrying e-bikes!

Right. If you look at the form it notes "not for pickup". You'll find a lot of things that Wal Mart doesn't actually sell listed under their site. As noted, third party pass through.

    Yamaha ebikes

When my daughter was little I would have cruised one of those with the child seat all day. We used to have the pull behind trailer. (I'm male).

Sparks flying: are my battery or charger damaged? Please help

I'd also give it another go and see what happens. As an aside, my battery instructions noted the battery has to be on to charge.

when will prices come down out of the stratosphere?

I also do not see battery prices coming down. I can remember when I could buy a car battery for under $30 now it's $100 plus.

Think tolerance for e-bikes is common? think again!

I have zero desire to regulate, license or determine how fast anyone can ride but I realize there are those who do desire to do that and have the desire to get the power to do so. Being older and in an area where people will pretty much leave you alone as long as you don't insist on doing...
