Older models sitting on showroom floor

You partially answered your own question but the alternatives for you are not many. If you are concerned over service, you travel or hope for the best. As far as answers go though, you can find just about anything you want online. The dealer should still be able to do basic bicycle service...

Bike Insurance? ebikes not covered under homeowners/renters, & >750W not covered by bike insurance

I'm just thinking out loud......Nearest larger city to me made motorized bikes legal. The community did a great job presenting their case about how this was the only way some people could get back and forth to work. Some people complained and it was made clear that traffic rules would be...

Ebikes are no longer a rare sight on my commute

I've seen two total. That's is a total for ever. I saw one guy with a home built recumbent and one guy that didn't appear to be local.

    Tow-along on an e-bike

I have one of the unit's you put on the back of your bike that a kid rides and peddles. Many are single wheel, mine has dual rear wheels. Would make a nice pull behind trailer. One day.

    Tow-along on an e-bike

I have one that I connected up to my bike. I was going to convert it into a trailer to haul things on until my grand daughter saw it and put an end to that idea for awhile.

Nationwide license for ebikes up to 45mph?

Yes, in reality the article is a bit jumbled. You already have to have a license to ride an electric motorcycle on the streets.

Nationwide license for ebikes up to 45mph?

I read this elsewhere, The first thought that came to mind is some people thinking "Hey, they look like they are having fun, we need to license that". I'll never buy a license for mine. I can't go anywhere near 45 though. If I had an electric motorcycle I would.

Question for Commuters: Buy an extra charger?

There are people who really enjoy the technical aspects of charging and I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with that either. However you get the most enjoyment is a good thing.

Question for Commuters: Buy an extra charger?

I feel the same way. I would rather ride than constantly worry about charge level. If I have to get a new battery 6 months before someone else, so be it. So with that said, I'd likely get the extra charger so I could ride to and from work how I wanted to without worrying about running low on...

The problem of the "disposable" ebike

It will likely take me 3 years to get through a tank of gas. I'm a big fan of electrics. My few handfuls of 1/4 mile passes a year isn't going to doing much. :D My electric bike will get me around in the pits.

The problem of the "disposable" ebike

I built my bike. I'm also building a Gasser. :D

The problem of the "disposable" ebike

There aren't enough people who want to pay for a 20 year dishwasher.

Not getting what everyone is doing!

Nothing wrong with liking both. I have a vintage 56 Pontiac gasser. I like the noise but I've also been in a Tesla at speed and dang, it is impressive. No fuss, no noise but you are pinned to your seat. That said, to each their own all around.

    KITS VS TURNKEY (NEW!)

I have less than $500 in mine. (not including the bike I already had and got for free from VW). It does everything I need. I will admit that turnkey bikes generally appear a bit more slick. I couldn't hide all my wires like I would have liked.

Rails to Trails Coast To Coast Across the USA

We have had the trails for a long time. (West Virginia). I've rode them on bikes but not electric yet. I'll accomplish that this year.

Looking to purchase ebike but are they legal?

I shudder at the thought of an illegal bike. I understand the need for the question but it's not a question I'll ever ask.
