Still searching for the perfect ultra-light ebike kit for road bikes — here’s the idea in my head

What's crazy is that the Addict eRide versions on clearance are better specced than the equivalent price acoustic Addict. Ultegra level components for $3500 on the eRide RC 10.

Wahoo ELEMNT vs. Garmin EDGE (as E-Bike GPS Displays)

Yeah, you have to be somewhat accepting when you buy into a 10 year old platform with a 6 year old display. (I also bought a new old stock bike last fall) FWIW, the Nyon display lets you configure up to 6 fields per screen, but it's biggest feature are custom assist modes. But I think they...

That's a really slick detail. Love how they eliminated a pain point for hub motors and turned it into a selling point.

Still searching for the perfect ultra-light ebike kit for road bikes — here’s the idea in my head

Unfortunately, Vivax -who owned the design - went out of business about 5 years ago. At that, the kits were $3-4k I think and are probably worth more now if any could even be found.

Maybe you should get an exoskeleton, then you don't have to mess with your bike at all. 2.2kg for the system, 2.6kg with a spare battery which you would almost certainly need. https://hypershell.tech/en-us/products/hypershell-x?variant=46103181918444

I guess I've been slacking on contributing to this thread so here are some assorted bits from the last 3 weeks of extended commutes. 4/16 - 42 miles. Cut across Seattle up and down cobblestone blocks to lake WA then north to home. I guess this was the Falcon's first "shakedown cruise" as I...

    The likely incoming 750w limit

Use of class 3 ebikes are limited to those age 16+ in my state and in many/most states as far as I know.

    left foot forward?

Spoken like a true right hander! I mount the bike from the right pretty often. Right foot planted is more natural for me. I end up mounting from the left as well, mostly because of the kickstand on one bike and the direction I am getting out of the garage and around the car in the driveway...

    left foot forward?

I'm left handed and right footed. I don't think that I favor either foot forward if I'm up on the pedals. But I definitely plant my right foot when mounting and when stopped. The exception being when the bike lane dissolves into a right tun lane. Then after stopping I switch to my left...

    RadRunner 2 notes:

Hope you enjoy it! I was wondering if you went with the 2 or the newer 3. Pretty decent discounts on both right now, but hard to pass up under $1k

    Larger chainring for Radster Trail?

Can you clarify what cadence feels too fast for you? I think at 28mph your cadence is prob still below 75rpm? Everybody's natural range is a bit different, but you may find that your upper limit increases as you start cycling more often. It's been noted a couple times, but I would recommend...

With 125% tariffs, will the e-bike market die?

To be clear, gerrymandering is practiced by both parties where allowed by law (which is practically everywhere). Gerrymandering and the winner take all electoral college(48 states) are IMO the 2 primary methods that the parties use to maintain their duopoly.

A stop at the waterfront earlier this week. To the north Mt Baker was bathed in sunlight despite the solid clouds over me 75 miles south. A short walk on a long pier

Modeling a Creo 2 motor in a Vado SL 1: Effect on rider power and battery consumption

Regardless of what some may assert there is no official definition of gravel bike or even all road etc. Just shared overlapping characteristics that the bike brands use to apply a marketing category to. Also these 'definitions' blur and shift with time. How many gravel bikes in 2020 came with...

    Can't decide! Nevo or Homage...

40 used R&M's on Upway right now. They at least have a return policy and limited warranty options plus a California location now (LA). I have seen bikes on there listed with incorrect class and/or Bosch drive unit, something to be aware of.
