An additional question. This test was carried out on a normal road route, right? What about tire pressure? Same pressure, what value?

Hi ngg, great input. Just let us know what tires are considered in your case. Will appreciate.

Back. Today I reached a total accumulated distance of 1,800 km, with an average of 17.5% assistance at L1 level, 4% at L2 and 0.1 at L3. These 1,800 km were traveled on mostly mid-mountain routes with gradients of up to 17%. The methodology followed for the customization of my power assistance...

After a pause to discuss other interesting topics about the operation of the X35 system, I allow myself to return to the development about my proposal for the objective estimation of assistance levels based on the cyclist's Power Profile. As a summary: 1) Each cyclist has a mass (Kg) and has an...

Thanks r1roman, I found that informetion very valuable. For me will be great to have the original excel file ( I wold like to find a relationship between motor rpm, assistance level and velocity). I see that Torque column is always 0% ( seems that the system does not calculate torque or it is...

The following are not X35 system, but another similar. Cadence (rpm) is the answer and smart motor controller.

Hi friends, even if the system does not have a torque sensor, it is possible to calculate it basesd on motor operation current, voltage and rpm. Every motor has its own caracteristic electric parameters. I will attach an graph example. In such case of no torque sensor, motor controller has a...

Setting and Riding with L3 at 100% means 250W of max system delivery power.

Orbea Gain D50 ( User learning and experiences )

The x35 system can deliver 250W during 1 hour. Should be interesting to test that condition.

To have an idea what 40Nm torque means, lets use the ngg formula Torque (Nm) = Power (watts) / (0.105 x Speed (RPM) Suppose we keep 70 rpm cadence, 40 Nm is like to push the cranck ( when it is at 3pm position) with a power of 294 W. But, motor is at rear, motor is not 100% efficient, we can...

Mahle hube motor max torque is 40Nm, also they recommend to keep a 15 to 20 Km/h speed. 15Km/h using a 700 wheel ( 2,136 mts/ revolution) means 117 rpm of the rear wheel. Using a 21/34 gear cassette conbination is equivalent to keep 72 rpm pedal cadence.

Well, let's see some clues: how many years practicing cycling? Your hight? Your age? Any illness that affects cycling? We will try to approximate a value based on other similar cyclists. It's just an exercise.

Hi r1roman, Thank you for your comments, I totally agree with them as they are the key points to keep in mind when using an ebike with rear hub motor like X35. "the motor is more efficient on climbs with more cadence than less cadence, the resistance is more noticeable..." "the weight of the...

Totally agree. Such a small hub motor and a 250W/h battery are optimized to make the Ebike not gain much weight. It is clear that the system has an optimal point of operation and in this case Mahle recommends staying between 15 to 20 KM/h. On the flat this is easy to maintain but already on...

How did you estimated the distance? 200km -- 70km is a very big uncertainty range. My methodology tries to have much more certainty. In the next few days I will continue with my explanations. Do you know your power profile W/Kg?
