Going to save a lot of money on food...

Our cold Coastal Nor. Cal. foggy nights keep down the bugs but I still always have sunglasses or yellow safety goggles after dark. One bug in the eye can ruin a ride. I normally only encounter them along one section of one creek. Also the hundreds of barn swallows help keep flying bugs in check...

Used Chopsticks, What Do You Do? Most Whimsical, Practical, or Creative Ideas.

BIKES. For the last several days I have been going analog and loving it. This tuned Giant Escape it thrilling and responsive and as fast as my Specialized Vado. But without any fillers, filters, or dilutions. It is like skinny dipping. Next it is getting Big Apples, 622-50's, so it will fly over...

    Hello from Ottawa

Do you cross the Ottawa river to the French side. It is so very close but a world away. Welcome.

They are also lighter weight. With less rotational mass. Really good stuff is really good. Bob White is a couple blocks away. I ride tuned calipers almost daily. Just tap once to shed rain before applying in those conditions. The fulcrum diameter is 622 not 160mm, so much more leverage pull; by...

Used Chopsticks, What Do You Do? Most Whimsical, Practical, or Creative Ideas.

I worked on a very high-end Ti bikepacking/adventure bike. It had super high-end mechanical brakes because you don't want to be way out in the wilderness and have a hydro issue. It was easy to dial the inner pad adjustment. I also have a gravel bike with GRX mechanically actuated hydraulic...

I used one yesterday to pack silicone grease into a shifter down the little hole where you feed a fresh shift cable. First I cooked the cable in hot bio-wax for a couple of hours. So it is slick as butter.

Got my 15yo son the Wired predator. Did i make a mistake?

I am very much into cooperative collaboration in creating community. Maybe somewhat off topic, for the last couple of days I have been going analog and it is lots of fun. With a really good bike that is perfectly true and tuned it is as fast as my Vado. There is no filter. It is like skinny...

Got my 15yo son the Wired predator. Did i make a mistake?

Yes, what it does is paints all electric bikes with the same crappy junk outlaw danger brush. That is not a bike. That is a Venn Diagram with zero overlap with bicycles and electric bicycles. It is putting a turd in the communal soup pot that spoils the whole thing. It also exploits the good...

    Show Us Your Bikes

That bike has a long wheel base for a smooth ride but not too long, an integrated strong rack, and lightweight Al frame. It has a double wide kickstand that re-deploys to the non-drive side. I love the paint. Double wide panniers will go under the wood deck with a crossed bungee system that can...

    Show Us Your Bikes

There is a good chance I will be tricking out this beauty, Brooks, leather grips, 11-50 9-sp cassette, and silver DM02 motor. It is actually a Globe Haul. That is the same name reused by Specialized for their new matte, fat 20", hunky-chunky hub-drive. I will do nice medium-wide gravel tan...

Giving is part of receiving. And somethings are worth receiving.

    JACKS FOR EBIKE?

Those ones for motorcycles don't work when there is a chainring. It is also important for the pedals to move.

Forgot to mention. Wheelies require a simultaneous tension balance between power and rear brake. So the kids remove the brake cutouts. It is a safety feature on hub-drive bikes that shuts power when the brake is applied.

Got my 15yo son the Wired predator. Did i make a mistake?

The ones with mechanical brakes are total garbage. The ones with hydro can be worse. What kids do is flip the left and right brakes so they can modulate wheelies with throttle on one hand and rear brake on the other. But that puts the reservoirs upside down making an air pocket so the brakes do...

Got my 15yo son the Wired predator. Did i make a mistake?

I reported it to Assembly Member Connolly. It will go up the food chain to the Apex Predator from there so these marketers land in jail. He wrote the California eBike legislation. Good point, there are some dads living vicariously instead of responsibly. Some do not know how to set the angle of...

Got my 15yo son the Wired predator. Did i make a mistake?

I have seen it many times. It is not dads. Fathers do not do this to their sons. They know what it is like to have pimple hormones raging without a gelled frontal brain. It is single moms who get talked into it. Who is going to assemble it? A motorcycle shop will not service it, and it will need...

It is note worthy that the day before the purchase he took out a ten-million-dollar double indemnitee death with dismemberment insurance policy on the kid, and purchased a grave plot.

    True Love in Color

I am doing house calls by bike. It usually takes two trips. The first is to assess what tools I need to bring or parts. Folks with a home office often need to stay there during normal bike shop hours.

Got my 15yo son the Wired predator. Did i make a mistake?

It is not a bicycle. The guy is doing 101 Kph without pedaling. That is half of terminal velocity in a free fall. It is like jumping off a nine story building and hitting the deck. 750W is the max for a legal assist bike in the US. This one is 9,000. The kid will die and so may others and not...
