    Firmware updates for Bosch

Could this be a large part of the reason R&M chose to go with FAZUA for their new lightweight UBN series (apart from weight, form, etc.). eg. They aren't sitting around fiddling their thumbs waiting for Bosch's "Smart System" to get smart? And i appreciate (Alaskan, much like the devices you...

    Firmware updates for Bosch

This is like a summary of some of my rants over the last few years so far! :) IMHO Bosch ebike division is starting to slip a bit behind the times in many areas except for motor power, reliability & battery construction. Even Apple had to take a bite out of their own rigid core to appease to the...

    Custom SD Bike Speaker Project

Perhaps do some software/hardware FFT trickery and incorporate the frame as an additional driver via vibrations! :)

    Bosch Solar Charging

So the Sunpower's are the real deal. I have my P3solars usually in parallel but then their individual MPP is 31VDC with an Open Circuit voltage of 39VDC.

    Bosch Solar Charging

Both large paralleled in series with both smaller paralleled? = (2 x large) + (2 x small) That's a worry! How are you determining 95% charge? If it's from the bike display it may be a lights reserve buffer thing, or maybe not :)

That's not simply just 2 Y cables is it?

    Bosch Solar Charging

Pretty sure that Riese & Muller only use Verticals, not sure about other brands.

    Bosch Solar Charging

@ 26:15 : Also, i think the Bosch 6A charger has a 4th conductor, this is all i know about that :) And i'm curious about their "New System" regarding charging, etc. as it has a different, new connector and the system uses the newer CAN FD bus.

    Bosch Solar Charging

Appreciate the rare Bosch information! Have you tried charging a powertube with that setup, on-bike and off?

    Bosch Solar Charging

FYI, had a few beers with a good mate (Aussie for friend) of mine, he comes from Laufen... Am i to assume that the BMS was from a pre-powerube battery without a propitiatory (Oval shapee) Bosch connector? I ask as i've read on the pedelecforum.de somewhere that newer Bosch BMS's can brick...

    Bosch Solar Charging

Great stuff! You have a non-Bosch 1kWh 60 cell 21700 battery working with a Bosch ebike eco-system? Any of those AMP SuperSeal connectors getting slightly warm at all (connector pins or crimp)? If so, i'd suggest Amass XT60 connectors instead, much better connection = lower loss of current...

Latest News from Riese & Müller

Wow, they really did rush the new system through. I would have thought DualBattery would have been one of the easiest to implement out of those 3. Charger 3 $1000 more expensive for same config smells like an incentive from Bosch to R&M to help get the new system numbers up!?

Bosch Smart System, Kiox 300, PowerTube 750, eBike Flow App

On the other hand if you find an ebike you like that uses the new Smart System, as far as i know since September 2021 and who knows how long into the future you would be limited to: 1 model of battery (Powertube 750), dual battery possibility unknown. 1 model of display, no possible upgrade to...

Known Issues & Problems with Bosch Products + Help, Solutions & Fixes

I would complain a lot more if the Bosch components weren't designed so well to last with tight manufacturing tolerances :) Bit like older Apple computer corp designs - works well, usually for a long time, easy to use. But can't repair yourself, can't tinker, static feature set that you can't...
