Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

Yes we do have excellent taste don't we ;) The only thing I don't like about the paint job is what was done on the top face of the top tube. Glossy black at the ends and fade out to just the black carbon. The painter kind of missed & didn't do it smoothly in a spot. They should have just painted...

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

Thanks for your thoughts. I have a range extender on order which will also be used on my Vado SL 5. No word yet on delivery. I will keep the gearing and TCD update options in mind after I get some miles on this bike. Stay warm, safe and healthy.

Specialized Turbo Creo 28mph Electric Road Bike

I officially became a member of the N + 1 club this weekend. I took delivery of a Creo Comp Carbon EVO in XL. I was able to test ride both the carbon and aluminum frame options and decided that the carbon was too sweet (and comfortable) to pass up. The LBS is part of a Midwest USA chain and had...

A couple of hard truths today...

I hope your future rides are more enjoyable. I think it is great that you are still riding. I'm 63 and hope to be still riding at your age. I have the Vado SL 5 EQ in a large. I'm 6'-3" with a 34" inseam and find the top bar too high because I can't lift my leg as high as I'd like. Yes, the...

    2021 Creo Road Remote?

I have been suffering from a bad case of the N+1's and am considering adding a Creo EVO. The Creo that looks best for me (and is in stock at the LBS) does not include the remotes which I consider a must have. I think where you have the buttons would work best for me. Thanks for sharing...

2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

Yesterday was nice so I hauled my Vado SL to the Rock Island rail trail in western Missouri. It was a pleasant ride, but frankly it's kind of dead out there this time of year.

Any pictures of how you transport your favorite ride?

My F150 pickup is my bike hauler. I bought Inno RT210 truck bed mounts for my acoustic bike. They are only rated for about 35 lbs so I use a ratchet strap to hold my Vado SL securely. It’s a cheaper solution than a trailer hitch system and allows everything to fit in my not very deep garage...

2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

I replaced my stock Pathfinders with these: https://www.specialized.com/us/en/hemisphere-armadillo-reflect/p/156763?color=233698-156763&searchText=0031-0140 I stayed with 38s. For me, these tires rode a bit hard until I dropped the pressure to the minimum recommended 75 lbs. Others have said...

2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

The Flint Hills trail starts in Osowatomie and heads westerly to Council Grove. There's more undeveloped rail right of way past Council Grove that still needs to be converted. The other rail trail in this area is the Prairie Spirit which starts in Ottawa and heads south to Herrington. Both are...

2020 : Our Rides in Words, Photos & Videos

Out on the Flint Hills Trail in eastern Kansas today. It is 110 mile rail trail. Decent temps and not too windy today. I ride a Specialized Vado SL which isn't the prefect ride for this trail, but I have tires that work OK for pea gravel & leaves while I try to avoid the sticks and horse poop. I...

Connection Device on the handlebar of Turbo Vado SL EQ?

Does it look like this? If so, that's for mounting the TCD. Not sure which Vado SL EQ you have. If 5, you were supposed to get a TCD.

So a quick review of the Vado SL after a month’s use.

I have the Vado 5 SL EQ. The supplied saddle looks like yours and it didn't work for my 175 lb bony ass. It was too stiff. I gave this saddle a try & it is working for me. https://selleanatomica.com/products/x2 It takes a few rides to get it tensioned correctly because the leather stretches. As...

how to set the time on a como 4

This video should help. Alternatively, search for TCD on the Specialized site and download the instructions. Warning-the text is very small and you may have trouble following them. Personally, I have decided not to mess with the clock change as riding opportunities in my area will be...

Realistic mileage for the Turbo Vado SL 5.0 EQ?

Sure. No problem. I'd like to hear how it works out for you. I'm thinking about bucking up for a range extender in the future. At this point however, this 63 year old body doesn't have the range to require the extender :0 For completeness I should tell you that my assist levels are the factory...

Realistic mileage for the Turbo Vado SL 5.0 EQ?

I have this bike but without the range extender. I can get about 55 miles on a single charge but my assist levels are 75% eco, 20% sport and 5% turbo. With a range extender and the same assist levels, I'd probably get a ride(s) in the low 80s between charges. In both cases I'd have about 10%...

Installing kickstand on Vado sl 5.0?

Sorry, the last pic was a crop of a shot of the entire bike. Here's a tighter shot. The kickstand on the EQ model is not mounted on the chain/drive train side of the bike. It is on the disk brake side. Hopefully this shot will show you how it was mounted on the EQ version.

Installing kickstand on Vado sl 5.0?

I have the EQ version of your bike. It has the kickstand installed on the non-drive side of the bike. Not sure if the kickstand you purchased will work that way of if your bike has same mounting provisions.

Turbo Connect Display Battery Replacement (TCD Lo Bat)

I don’t know about a video but the instructions can be downloaded here. They show you how to change the battery and pair the TCD with the controller. Some claim if you change the battery quick, the connection to your bike is retained. Admittedly tiny text with cryptic instructions...
