UK bike thieves steal then re-steal.

Local bike shops here rarely have bike stand inside or even outside for customers. The occasional inside ones are old and not designed for MTB tires or disks. Luckily my commuter has kickstand. One is through 2 doors and up few steps with nowhere outside to lock bike up. Don't visit that shop.

Unicorn search? Off-road fat step-through + internal hub?

Only has 265% range eg 11 Only has 263% gear range compared to 11-46t cassette which 418% and only rated for 65nm of torque. Can't lower the overall range by using large rear sprocket either as this will exceed make torque rating. These IGHs were designed for commuter bikes not offroading...

    Disappointed after purchasing an e-bike?

2x Moustache Xroads (2&5). 12000kms and 3.5years old. Excellent bikes, very impressed with rear wheel quality had no busted spokes in this time. Only complaints are dim tail light on mudguard not up to commuter standards. I've added extra one to back of rack. Entry level MT200 brakes on Xroad...

    Can I change derailleurs?

Being new bike the shop be able sort it under warranty. If mail order then good chance Alivio hasn't been setup correctly or damaged in shipping. I'd start with Youtube videos on setup derailleur. While Alivio isn't high performance derailleur they are top of Shimano 9spd range definitely step...

Are all Bosch mid-drive systems Class 1 only and... is that good or bad?

Throttle won't help as it doesn't provide more power. Hill climbing comes down to power and gearing. I ride a different bike with same motor and climb some serious steep hills with ease. Surprised you are struggling on moderate hill with current gearing. If 1st gear and Turbo isn't easy enough...

Need Help finding the right E-Bike

Try test riding some of quality ( egSpecialized, Trek, Giant) full suspension emtbs. You don't need to be MTBing to enjoy their suspension. Between their low gearing and powerful motors there is nothing they won't climb with ease. While not step through frames their dropper post does help when...

First e-bike for a 68 year old - buying help needed

When it comes to low maintenance can't bet middrive motor with belt drive and internal geared hub (IGH) eg Gazelle 380. The additional purchase price and extra weight are worth it compared to high maintenance derailleur drivetrain, which is lot more expensive in parts and labour to maintain...

Pedal suggestions for Turbo Vado 5.0 IGH?

My Moustache Xroad 5 came with metal pedals with moulded flat pins similar to Race Face Rides. Excellent trekking bike pedal that doesn't bite me in shins like may MTB flats and work well with trainers. Wanted same pedals to replace crap plastic ones on wife's bike but Moustache dealer was of no...

Trek Verve+ 3 or 4s vs Cannondale Neo vs Gazelle Ultimate 380

While I'm fan of low maintenance cycling with belt drive high on wish list, down side is Enviolo hub adds couple extra kgs which maybe an issue if you need to lift bike on regular basis. If you buy Trek see if you can upgrade charger from 2A to 4A. For overnite charging 2A is fine, its lunch...

    Giant E3 + 2019 EnergyPak 400 upgrade

If it's side release looks like they are interchangeable. Still best to check with shop before buying. https://www.giant-bicycles.com/md/energypak-400-500-side-release-battery

Yamaha charging $2475.00 for a battery

If your Haibikes are Bosch powered worth doing regular searches online as some shops discount batteries occasionally. I got mine at 30% off but seen 50% recently one particular battery.

How do y'all handle flats on your rides?

Supplying high volume of air in short period is biggest issue when popping bead in place. Workshop compressor with large reservoir is ideal. In my case 3000psi applied directly from dive tank worked a treat, not as dangerous as it seems as valve was removed and seal was very leaky. How...

    Properly inflating tires

Most people buying these inflators already have batteries and chargers for other tools in range. I bought a Ryobi one and it's been excellent investment. Quick to take 2.75x 2.3" bike tire from 0-50psi, don't know why but seem to be forever needing to do this and its not because of punctures...

Best vehicle rack for step-thru e-bikes

Good video of its features I have Thule ezyfold 2bike rack which attaches to towball. Easy to load and store and no regrets but after watching video think 1UP is far superior, in everyway if you have hitch mount. Only plus Thule had is I can fold it to store in trunk as don't like leaving it...

    Turbo Vado SL questions

Old motors climb hills just fine. Any extra power a newer motor has will only be accessible in Turbo which is very good at flattening hills and batteries.

No charger, no GO? 😥 🚴

What happened to chargers? Seller should've supplied them if not return the bikes.

    BT-E6010 battery w/ E5000 died 4 miles early w/ no reserve & no warning

The display worked in % not bars. I never use range estimate as they are never accurate as to many variables. Always fully charged the battery, why partially charge a battery unless storing for extended periods?

    Moustache Xroad 2 2020 low step 625Wh

Definitely fine line between to tight and to loose with cone bearings, all takes me a few attempts at tightening nuts to get tension just right. Given both axles are 9mm QR not sure how you plan to upgrade hubs.

    BT-E6010 battery w/ E5000 died 4 miles early w/ no reserve & no warning

The estimated range is based on battery voltage (36v) reading at time. Capacity in the individual cells does vary so when range was estimated one or 2 cells may be almost flat. NB voltage drops off dramatically in last few % eg from 3.0 to 1v. Our old Shimano 400wh battery use go from 23% to 8%...

    Bikepacking with an E-Bike

I was trying to show its not much heavier than average ebike. When you remove 4kg for 2nd battery configuration then its more like a 25kg single battery ebike.
