Should I wait to buy my 1st e-bike?

I can assure you DDBB that you will ride more with an eBike. I live on my Social Security, and by American standards am “poor”. But my eBike purchase was a great investment for me. It has improved my quality of life, health, and state of mind. I have been on two wheels bicycles/motorcycles...

    Mini USB to I-Phone

Warning, this is off topic! @MarkF - how do you like your Retroglide? I wanted one, but my LBS didn’t have one to test ride, so I ended up getting my Magnum (which I am very satisfied with). Wish I could have at least test rode one.

    old poll

I tell people my town IS a bike path. There are two heavy traffic roads in Granbury. Highway 377 and 144. I never go on 144 because there is no shoulder. I use 377 way to get to other areas of town and some shopping, but it has a shoulder that is literally the size of a car lane. Everything else...

What kind of bike should I be looking for?

As others have said, ride as many as you can. If you have an electric bike shop in reasonable driving distance go there and try out different brands and types. If you don’t , then go to as many regular bike shops as you can. Most only carry one ore two brands, but you can get an idea of what may...

Got my Magnum Ui6 - includes periodic updates

1000 mile update: Now have over 1000 miles, and running great. I know it’s boring, but no problems or issues. Still 60+ miles on a charge using PAS 2 and 3. I will update again at 2000 or if something significant happens. Still very satisfied with this eBike!

    Magnum Peak Thread

Are you inputting 8306? That’s the code that works on my Ui6. It’s a bit odd on the input, but works for me.

Don't be too quick to open that mid drive motor yet.

I have used a cheap dry lube from Lowe’s for over 10 years. Always got 5000 miles plus from my chains on my road bike. I lube every hundred mile and clean with WD-40 and relube every 500 miles. Simple, easy and cheap. The bike branded dry lube is good too, but cost a lot more because of the...

Ebikes will get you just as fit as non-Ebikes.

This is my experience as well. The simple fact that I ride more often, and longer distance are part of the reason. Plus the fact I can keep a steady cadence even in headwinds or hills are a factor as well.

    Noob gets a flat...

I’m lucky enough to have a CO2 that does both :)

    Noob gets a flat...

I hate presta valves. I use adapters on my Trike tires, and thankfully my eBike does not have them. I understand why they are needed on skinny tires, but I still hate them.

That is great news! Sounds like a good ride, and it’s made even better when you can have confidence in the battery.

Got my Magnum Ui6 - includes periodic updates

Quick update - a few days away from 7 weeks, and hit 700 miles. Bike has been perfect. Normal new bike cable stretch on brakes and shifter. Did the brakes myself, as it’s easy to do. Have free “tune ups” at shop I bought it from, but that’s 60 miles away. I do not at this point have a good way...

Battery range and notes for the magnum metro plus

@Mark Peralta - I find your pas speeds pretty accurate on my Ui6. Thanks for the info, it’s helpful to know as I like to peddle above the cutoff for cardio/strength benefit.

    Should wearing helmet be optional?

Should be optional for adults. I always wear one, but that my decision, not the nanny state.
