    Need recommendations...

See if your local bike shop has the Giant bikes or try the Specialized Vado. Those are two very nice bikes and in your price range judging by the list of bikes you listed. If you are in the Midwest a lot of the 2019 bikes are on closeout and you can get a super deal. There are huge advantages...

Just got my all terrain 750

Keep it clean.... buy a bike stand for repairs and a chain cleaner scrubber. Grease your chain after you clean it. I like to do this every few weeks. I wipe my bike down with a damp soft microfiber cloth.

    LaFree Ebike

Mine is great it shifts perfectly. I have had 2 tune ups since I bought it in June. It will slip into another gear if I pedal too hard and don't shift into a lower gear. That is really the only thing I have to watch for when I ride. I have an excellent LBS and they are fantastic as far bike...

    58 miles!

I have a 400w battery. I went on a ride today in auto assist. I rode 18.6 miles and used 23% of my battery. The Giant Lafree is really good at conserving battery life. I rode a new trail today and it was the weirdest bike trail EVER!!! Paved but really narrow and curvy...lots of...

    LaFree Ebike

My Lafree E+2 does not have the auto option. Some of the Lafree E+2 do and some do not. I actually would not have known about that option but the manual mentions it and it also mentions some do not have it. If you don't have the six light indicator and only have five your Lafree does not have...

mid drive ebike without shift sensor question (Yamaha Cross Core)

When I first started out I used to ride in high gear all of the time. I have a Giant with a Yamaha motor. I never had any trouble. I like you had forgotten how to ride a bike and broke a bunch of shifting rules and I had no trouble. Maybe you had a weak chain? It can happen....I hope your...

    More and more e-bikes!

We should be complaining about anyone who is not safe on a bicycle path.....singling out is the problem. Roadies, throttle, ebike, fat bike, hybrid....it doesn't matter. Safety is the most important thing. We don't single out Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros even though they are meant to be...

    Sad about last two rides.....

Then there's the person who thinks they have control of their big dog on a leash and they don't. That is what I encountered. With her screaming at me, "I'm in my right there's a leash law!!!" Meanwhile the dog is dragging her on the ground. Ugh...… I'm still sick just thinking about it.

    Single gear vs multiple gears

I own the Giant Lafree E+2. It's a great bike but it is a Class 1. You can get from 0mph to 10mph in a second. The Yamaha motor is silent and when I say silent I mean like your on a regular bike. The warranty is 2 years on motor and lifetime frame. You will get Local Bike Shop service which...

Trek’s Electra Rolls Out $1500 Hub Drive Townie

I love it.....it's perfect for the casual ebike rider. Well done Electra. This bike is perfect for that person who just wants to play. It's a great bike for a tween or someone who does a short commute. Perfect for a campground.

    Single gear vs multiple gears

What are your intentions for bicycling? If your looking for exercise than the gears will benefit you. If your are looking for an ebike to do the work that single speed is gonna do just fine. There is an ebike out there for everyone. Your gonna have a blast no matter what you decide. Make...

Questions/thoughts on the new Bosch motors

I agree with rich c. Bosch is a reputable company with a great warranty. I don't see a lot of risk. I say go for it. Some of the MOST expensive ebikes on the market have a Bosch motor. ?

    Embarrassed dog...

Is this for real? I guess we don't know what he was doing to provoke her to act like that I'm assuming nothing out of the ordinary. That's too bad it's a kill joy for your ride.

    More and more e-bikes!

I don't care what type of bike you're on as long as your riding safe. I see BICYLISTS (anyone on any type of bike) going way too fast on bike trails. Compromising the safety of others should NEVER be allowed. I don't really care how you choose to ride your bike... throttle, pedal, coast ect…...

    My First Electric Bike

Check out www.boltonebikes.com they have some nice folding bikes. They have good support as well. I do not own a Bolton but if I got a folding bike I would be interested in this brand. Bolton has a FB page and there are plenty of people enjoying these bikes.

    Carry Essentials

I got a flat yesterday. You will need a tube, preferably a tube rather than a patch kit for yourself. I like CO2 kits to inflate the tire. They are much easier than a mini pump. You could be pumping for a long time. Wal-Mart sells a nice CO2 kit for $15. You will need a bicycle multi tool...

    LaFree Ebike

You will have no problems riding on different types of trails. It handles well on rail trails. I would say I personally do not enjoy loose dirt or sand when riding with my Lafree E+2. However the wide tires help with loose dirt a great deal. Hope it helps. You will LOVE your new Ebike...
