You are exactly where I was about a month ago. Look up the forum that I started titled ‘HELP- Como vs Vado’. Lots of great responses there by other members. I bought the Vado and love it.

Yes. Those slower crimson Vados can haul more cargo for sure. ;) I had already looked at rack time but wasn’t really what I was looking for. No rush so I’ll keep searching. Do you need the adapter if you are using a rack time basket?

Vado and Como 4.0 are clearly Class 3/28mph in the US. The only part I don’t understand is why the different chain rings for the two.

Why would Specialized use a different chain ring on the Como vs Vado? I may be. Using the wrong terminology here (definitely a Newbie here) but I’ve been wishing for a higher gear ratio on my Vado. I find I am always wishing there was another ‘click’ or two when I’m riding. Some have suggested...

All of those limits must be frustrating! I routinely ride my new Vado at 20-24 mph (32-40kph with the ability to get up to 45 kph).

...that seems to sum it up....the alternate theory would be that they overestimated the demand for red and underestimated the demand for gray.

I don’t expect to need to lock my bike for more than short stays in very public and generally safe areas. Really just need a ‘cafe’ lock. If my needs change over time I will upgrade to a more aggressive ABUS.
