Thank you for your kind words. I was never a pro, just a high category amateur who raced in the pro fields most of the time. Another thing I noticed yesterday, and I'm seeing the same thing today, is that UAE is doing a lot of work. I'm starting to think that the reason that Visma isn't as...

    Back to the bike shop

All that, for sure. I'd like to get some of the race bike feel back. I'd also like to have full diagnostic capability once I decide that I'm done working at the bike shop. I can get one through the shop for my use. I think that I can meet my goals of being able to ride 80 miles assisted with a...

    Back to the bike shop

As of right now, the only two flat bar road e-bikes that have full carbon frames and the ability to carry a small load are the Pinarello Nytro Allroad E and the Scott Silence. If there are others, I'd like to hear about them.

Bafang m420 doesn't turn on without removing battery first

For drive units with full diagnostic capability, you have many choices.

    Back to the bike shop

I built this little beauty today and set it up through the app. Velotric Breeze. A very nice bike for the money. I just saw the shop cost price for the Pinarello Nytro Allroad E that I've been considering. Uh-oh. Could be trouble.

I did not say that MVDP could not win stages, or wear yellow. There's been nothing even close to a Cat 2 climb yet, and Le Tour has multiple HC climbs in it. Cat 4-3-2-1-HC. Healy did great today. He escaped after doing a ton of work in the break. Simmons smoked that sprint. I was so happy for...

This is some incredible racing. Attack after attack at crazy high speeds over rolling terrain.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

I would if I had AXS. No need with wired Di2. Plus a number of drive units have Di2 cabling available,.

There's a lot of racing left, but today was disappointing.

Specialized Turbo Vado SL: An Incredible E-Bike (User Club)

The charge in a Di2 seatpost battery literally lasted me months of training and racing, yet I carry a charger in my official's bag because racers can be stupid and forget to charge their bike.

    Tire Liners

Any liner with sealant is a PITA for a mechanic. A total mess. But that's not your problem. I've been getting by with the Schwalbe Green Guard and butyl tubes, but I'm changing to TPU tubes soon. At the shop we use Orange Seal sealant.

Multicharger — what break pads do you use?

I'm sure that the spring has some effect on the brake feel, but it's there mainly to keep the pads from rattling. Brake feel comes mainly from lever/hose/caliper combo and the pad/rotor combo.

Mountain bike racers use the 3-9 (cranks parallel to level ground) a lot when cornering and avoiding obstacles.

    Wahoo Tickr Fit

I have been using a Wahoo Tickr chest strap for years. The strap crapped out early, so I use Garmin straps now. At one point I thought it died, but the battery contacts just needed cleaning after a long ride in the rain.

Multicharger — what break pads do you use?

Most bicycle hydraulic brakes use a mineral oil based fluid that should be changed every few years. Moisture can cause the pistons to stick.
