    Suggestions for 300lb. rider

That's going to be tough, especially for a folding ebike. The highest ratings I've seen are 285lbs. You'll need to research carefully.

People for Bikes: Progress on Ebike Laws in the US

Lots of people on this board talk about fines, impoundment, citations, etc. I still am not seeing any enforcement whatsoever. With all this "defunding the police" movement, and staffing levels trending down, I can't even get CHP to give a damn about 90+ speeds, even I even see them at all. Local...

At Least Florida is taking Major Steps to stop Big Tech Censorship

Not sure where this is going to take us, but at some point, our relationship with big tech needs to be re-evaluated IMHO. No one individual company should have so much power over so many.

    Good Stuff You Bought

It's a lifesaver. Last week out here, it was cloudy, rainy, and poor visibility on the roads and even worse at night when there is poor streetlighting. I personally saw a few riders out after dark with no rear lights whatsoever on city streets with no dedicated bike lane. It was incredible they...

    Are Womens' Cycling Competitions Wrecked?

"OOH and money really does grow on Trees." LOL. No it does not. The bill will eventually have to be paid. IMHO, the trouble with that is everybody thinks somebody else is going to be on the hook to pay it back.

    Are Womens' Cycling Competitions Wrecked?

I do not agree on the premise that we should study Finland/Switzerland and apply those lessons learned to the US. It would be a futile effort. In order to make that happen, you need buy in from the citizens from whom their law enforcement agencies would be modeled after (i.e...

    The Green Room

Let us see this Summer in California. I am interested if there will be rolling blackouts due to not having enough capacity to keep up with demand, and a breakdown of which counties are impacted the most. This state has a lot of green initiatives and milestones that I am for, but at what cost to...

    Are Womens' Cycling Competitions Wrecked?

Beware the law of unintended consequences. There is no doubt Government and Law Enforcement can fix the problem. For me, the question is why isn't it being done? Even Minneapolis City Council, who, after George Floyd, could not bring themselves to disband the Police Department as promised. The...

    Bidet

I am also looking into converting from a water heater tank to tankless water heater. The latter does have advantages that are attractive.

    Are Womens' Cycling Competitions Wrecked?

No it doesn't excuse the violence against LBGTQ in the US, but it can be a whole lot worse outside the US. How do you propose to reach 0 incidents of violence within this civilized country? What would you like the government to do about that?, remembering the US is a melting pot of many...

Pedal Assist not Working, throttle and display working fine

I've had the same problem but on a different bike. That is, throttle ok, but PAS not working. The connections were snug and clean so I was worried the controller was bad. Turned out to be a faulty PAS sensor. I have the self aligned one that HarryS has pictured.

    Stay safe fellow riders

With California taking the lead here, I am not surprised at all. As both a motorcycle rider and ebike rider, you'll find plenty of both, especially in the mountains, on weekends, but so too during the daily commute. Due to being California and the year long good weather, we ride all year long...

Fortnine study: Are electric bikes more dangerous than motorcycles?

You bring up a good point about that. Reaction times get slower as we age, and riding a middleweight sport bike at a good clip gets even more dangerous. I was quick to buy a literbike, but almost as quick to go back to a middleweight. Not having your mind and body in great shape just raises the...

Anybody else go from a rear hub motor to mid drive?

Ditto. Would like to know as well. Some of my eMTB buddies have mid drives and chain breaks are rare.

What Do You Do During The Lockdown?

Which is why today was such a treat. The last 4 days has been overcast with plenty of rain. So, when today was actually sunny and starting the drying. I couldn't get on my bike fast enough. That sunshine felt great.
