So who has had a down tube mounted battery stolen?

Normally it would be more productive to steal the whole bike. Taking a battery off of a bike makes it far less desirable to steal the bike so that would be one of my main motivations for removing it.

Sparks flying: are my battery or charger damaged? Please help

Start a new thread? Disclaimer, I have never opened up or serviced a battery but I do have some experience and it sounds like you might be tempted to plug it in again. 1. Do not plug that battery in again until it is fixed. Fire or serious injury may occur. 2. If you can put the battery...

The long Biktrix road, my personal battery is dying.

::eyeroll:: see how funny it is if someone gets into an accident, are denied insurance coverage and get sued for a couple of hundred grand. Or get dinged with a $6 thousand dollar ticket for no insurance (has happened before).

The long Biktrix road, my personal battery is dying.

For those nay sayers. If someone sells you an ebike and tells you that you can legally ride it on the road. 1. One expects you were sold an ebike (it is legally defined) where the store is located. 2. One expects that they can ride it legally on the road where the store is located because the...

The long Biktrix road, my personal battery is dying.

The Biktrix name and company have value and purpose, that is a huge portion of their customer's purchases. I don't understand why it is OK for you to have faith they will send the documentation and not OK for me to have faith in Biktrix, our consumer laws here in Canada. I don't understand why...

The long Biktrix road, my personal battery is dying.

About 15 minutes after writing posting this thread, after closing time in Saskatoon I received a professional response from someone new to me. So much more professional and included relevant information and lacking anything resembling the quotes posted above. Just waiting on the documentation...

The long Biktrix road, my personal battery is dying.

Programming question and CS question here and I am hoping Biktrix's Roshan can help out here because communications with customer service broke down immediately and 4 days and exchanges later they are still no closer to addressing the issue. They turned a feel good purchase into a very bad...

@$@! I guess I will build my own?

The idea is to convert a commuter bike without spending more than a new ebike. I don't think this exists, does it? conversion kit: Mid-drive motor, motor size not exceeding 500W, torque sensor. I am thinking mid-drive because the bike has both hubs occupied with a nexus internal hub and roller...

    Torque + cadence sensor?

Thank you. All your posts were very useful to me. I am the guy that wants to switch between 2 or 3 modes: commute, offroad hills and casual shared use paths. I also can't help but tinker, I might gladly spend the first month experimenting with different settings and looking through curves. I...

    Torque + cadence sensor?

Thank you for the technical info. I suppose there is a whole range or motor response programmed that can vary from shop to shop much like any vehicle motor can be tuned and I have to adapt to the motor. Does that sound right? Do people get that into it that the program how the motor response...

    Juggernaut Hub Duo Front Rack

Check out the other ebike manufacturers. They have more variety for front mount racks as long as they match the handlebar stem bolt patter with your bike it is good. You will also have to add a spring between your frame and your front forks to help with the extra weight of the basket. I really...

anyone with a hub duo and 52v 17.5 amp battery?

It is difficult but the best answer I think would come from this video Bitrix put out: I am 140lbs. You are 300lbs. My trails are hilly, yours are flat. I am unfit, you are super fit. I put effort into my biking, you want to throttle it most of the way. My battery is 4 years old. Yours is...

    Torque + cadence sensor?

I am looking at some bikes from one manufacturer and 3 different sensor types are listed: 1) Torque 2) Cadence 3) Torque + Cadence. I asked and there is no way on #3 to choose either one of the other, it is both of them together. Can someone help me understand this?

    adding a fork lock

I have a set of Mozo forks....I know nothing about forks. I suppose these ones are basically springs with some oil around them. Is it possible to add a lockout to such a fork or do I go fork shopping? I am in Canada, what is my best bet for keeping the price down when switching out the forks...

    Canadian e-bike Class/Speed laws?

I was talking to an employee of the province seeking information. If it is above 500w it is a motor vehicle. I asked how can bike shops sell them. They said they can't unless they have a license to sell motorized vehicles, which they don't. I asked the store about it and they said they...

Police - questioning the power rating of your E-bike? or Ticketing you?

Never been pulled over and asked but ebikes are really just becoming a thing here and all it will take is a few serious incidents or some old biddy with pull for enforcement to be taking a closer look. Most officers don't know the difference between a 250W motor and a 1000W motor but they will...
