    New 2022 Vado 5

That’s a safe bet at this point in life.

Anybody Ride a Specialized Turbo Tero Yet?

Sell the plain Vado. Keep the SL. Get the Tero. 🤣

    New 2022 Vado 5

We went Red because (aside from it being the best of the 3 colors next year) because it was April in the computer system. Black was August. Global production and shipping is a nightmare.

    New 2022 Vado 5

My wife and I preordered the belt drive versions in red so we’ll be waiting until supposedly April.

    Whoops I did it again...

Food for thought. If you don’t like thinking about shifting, you can look at the new 2022 IGH models that shift for you. Then you never have to think about it again if it’s a concern for you.

Anybody Ride a Specialized Turbo Tero Yet?

If it doesn’t come with one and you do night trail riding, I’d skip what the Vado comes with and go right for something like the M99 Supernova.

    New Vados, Comos, and TERA!

@Stefan Mikes @Igor M the 2022 Vado manual has information on a L1e-B S-Pedelc version. It even details the equipment differences and shows fender with plate mount, horn, lighting equipment, etc. Pictures as well. I would wager it is coming, you just may need to be patient.

Hiplok D1000 - Cutoff Wheel Resistant Lock

Hiplok has a kickstarter for their new u lock that is angle grinder cut off wheel resistant. Worth a watch. A 2kg lock that takes 20+ minutes to cut through mixed with a frame lock/chain seems like a solid solution.

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

@Court might. Charlie (DC) that has filmed with Court had one for just this purpose on his Como 5.0.

Get a good helmet, and wear it.

Everyone should be entitled to health care as a right, but personal (poor) health choices SHOULD impact triage situations especially when those choices impact outcome. Medical professionals should make decisions about saving the most people possible. Health care isn’t supply chain. This...

    New Vados, Comos, and TERA!

Also, if the only reason you would want 2021 over 2022 comes down to something like tires, you can go smaller. For me, I liked Brose being quieter (albeit nervous on the reliability a few models ago), and having the LBS 5 miles away being almost solely a Specialized dealer. The things they...

    New Vados, Comos, and TERA!

Personal preference. I would lose the key. I’d prefer one on my keychain in my pocket that I take out to use. Nothing inherently bad with it. Just not for me. edit - also for Abus vs AXA. Does AXA offer keyed alike? Unless supplied from the OEM, I haven’t seen the option advertised. I’ll have...

    New Vados, Comos, and TERA!

Was hoping to do ABUS Keyed Alike and only need 1 key since that's who Specialized has used the last few years. Looks like 2022 they have swapped to AXA instead. At least it doesn't come with the frame lock, like Gazelle, where it requires a captive key. Bonus side I guess, I can order all my...

    New Vados, Comos, and TERA!

Interesting find. The suspension seat post shown on the pictures of the chain drive version is not the same as the version shown on the picture on the front page of the manual that is available. The manual picture shows the Automatiq version and it appears to have a Thudbuster. Either way, the...

    New Vados, Comos, and TERA!

They claim the new controller is what has the motor cutout logic. So the motor may not mater if the controller can be upgraded. If the firmware doesn't support the old motor, then it's probably not going to happen (this would be my bet).

    New Vados, Comos, and TERA!

The pictures do make the frames look identical. This would make sense from a business cost standpoint, especially when supply chain is so FUBAR. The 2022 Vado is was shown on the spec page as having 650b x 2.3" tires, but the pictures showed Pathfinder Sport tires, which I think were only...

Odd..Mike's Bikes had orders cancelled by Specialized ???

Hello fellow Michigander. Which places did they buy? Everything up near Midland is Specialized with the exception of 1 Trek dealer that is always out of stock on everything. Edit - and TForan. Hello to you as well. Great biking in this state. Glad so many are on here.

    New Vados, Comos, and TERA!

I would recommend checking it out and learning about it. It’s basically 1 extra step to undo the linkage on the shifter or plug for e-shift. I think your assumption is incorrect. You don’t need the frame breakaway because you don’t take the belt out with the wheel on.

    New Vados, Comos, and TERA!

The press release I just found shows an IGH option on all Como and Vado modes EXCEPT the Vado 4.0. If the Como 4.0 has one, I struggle to think the Vado 4.0 doesn’t. So you may need to check with your LBS to be sure.

    New Vados, Comos, and TERA!

I don’t understand the “it’s hard” argument. I just watched a shop in Austin so one today on YouTube. It’s not hard. Just a few extra steps. I plan to run Tannus Armor anyway. My wife is a full time mom and my commute is 6 miles, so calling for backup or a pickup isn’t hard for I have a lot of...
