Done an Alfine 8 conversion to my BBS02 750 last week, impressed so far, changes smooth, best part probably at a junction or when you have to brake suddenly, just a few cliks and your off in the right gear immediately.

What`s the hub kit? Seems really silent for a hub. nice trails you got there

i would reckon they`re just renaming the BBS02 750 watt and concentrating on their MaxDrive units for lower wattage versions

Put it this way i wouldn`t like to be doing it by the roadside. I have a 20" folder and i changed over to Schwalbe tyres front and rear. Its a pain getting it back together again, though your drive may make it simpler.

Hi and welcome..... i wouldn`t get too hung up on the straight bars, i had these on my bike conversion and immediately replaced them with a riser and high swept back bars, made a big difference to back and arm comfort (<-- see avatar)

When you`re looking for a donor bike for the BBSxx a couple of things to consider. Firstly don`t go for some odd-ball as you can easily run into mounting problems with BB size. A must is disc brakes, hydraulic even better. I went for a s/h light but strong frame with a decent sized triangle if...

I would tend to go with a 7-speed cassette that would have the stronger chain over what a 10-speed has. With the torque of the HD you`ll find a 7-speed cassette is more than enough.

on the question of noise, i can say on the BBS02 all you`ll get is a low `whirrrr`, not in any way annoying.

That`s tempting, just checked with other chinese sellers on AliExpress etc and they don`t come near, maybe his carriage charges are expensive??
