Vado 5.0 IGH versus Tero 5.0 (EQ pack)

Its called Redwood - that help? I ride with a Garmin Edge and sometimes with my phone on the bars. Varia will light up either so I haven’t bothered trying to get Mastermind to recognize it. I rely more on a mirror anyway and Varia is really just a glorified tail light. But its better than...

The Tero 4.0 also comes in a snappy orange color.

Vado 5.0 IGH versus Tero 5.0 (EQ pack)

I’m actually glad I wasn’t faced with that dilemma. When I first decided to get e-bikes I thought I would be in the $2500 range. It didn’t take long for that to double.

Vado 5.0 IGH versus Tero 5.0 (EQ pack)

The X 6.0 uses the 710wh battery and a 10-50 cassette - better, but at $6500 I probably still would have bought the Tero 5.0, which cost me $4,500. A $2,000 up-charge for rear suspension didn’t (and still doesn’t) seem worth it to me. I still haven’t done enough riding on my PNW suspension...

Vado 5.0 IGH versus Tero 5.0 (EQ pack)

Good idea, but as a self-appointed Tero beta tester I have this input: 1. The motor would be perfectly adequate but range would be limited to less than 30 miles in hilly terrain with this battery. I get about 30 miles in my area with a 710wh battery without being concerned about making it up...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

On my Tero there is just enough slack in the system that by turning the bars to the right I can remove the dropper and access/remove the cable end. So no internal work necessary. Easy! I also like the wireless dropper idea but the cost seems disproportionate to the value. I guess if there was no...

Specialized Turbo Vado/Como/Tero/Tero X User Club

When I got that pump and looked at the mount I thought there was something familiar about the spacing and size of the mounting holes.

it is but I used my top set to mount my tire pump which coincidently had the exact same mounting dimensions…..imagine!

Specialized Vado 5 rear light not working

I bought two Teros and had the fenders/lights/rack kit installed on both. One had a faulty tail light and they had to send it back and replace it. It was a shop job because (they say) any owner access to the electircal system of the bike voids the warranty.

Vado 5.0 IGH versus Tero 5.0 (EQ pack)

Think these would be over the top…… with blips?

Vado 5.0 IGH versus Tero 5.0 (EQ pack)

I really like the Tero and I have no regrets. It just doesn't make much sense financially. I have no interest in shredding or fast downhill so I didn’t want or need a full suspension bike and didn't want to pay the up-charge for it, and even though Im approaching the price of a Levo, I still...

    rear mirror or radar

Both. The Varia is good but doesnt give much warning if cars are coming up behind you fast. You see a brief indicatior and they pass you (hopefully) - not enough time to react. And it cant see around curves. I like seeing the warning come up on my display but Im not always looking at it...

Vado 5.0 IGH versus Tero 5.0 (EQ pack)

To the OP, the Tero is a beast but over the top for your purposes. If I were going to spec a bike for your needs, I’d suggest the Vado 4.0. It will do everything you want and cost about $2700 less than my Tero after upgrades. Just take a look at Tero Vs Vado gearing and that should be enough...

Vado 5.0 IGH versus Tero 5.0 (EQ pack)

My LBS did it - Spesh sent put an email to new owners offering it N/C. It now has a sticker about half the size of a postage stamp at the bottom of the seat tube proclaiming “ class 3” so of course I stay off the trails….

Vado 5.0 IGH versus Tero 5.0 (EQ pack)

Exactly! As an example, I’ve finally managed to make my Tero live up to the claims on their website. I often had to go back and re-read it to try to understand what they were thinking when the launched a heavy XC/SUV bike with MTB gears and class 1 limit (and what I was thinking when I bought...

Vado 5.0 IGH versus Tero 5.0 (EQ pack)

Definitely - if their marketing folks see sales potential, they’ll launch it and it will most likely sell, whether its a good product or not. I’ve finally massaged my Tero into something usable, but not without spending some time (and money) on the learning curve.

I saw that too - searched for a while and found nothing else on it.

Vado 5.0 IGH versus Tero 5.0 (EQ pack)

Well its already ordered, probably already delivered to my PO box by now so I’ll give it a try. I bought it through Amazon (and on sale) so easy returns if I don't like it. There really isn’t any other choice to add a little suspension while maintaining my drop capability and I like that and use...
