The problem is real life mountain biking includes many types of road and terrain. There are plenty of times and at least a few thousand miles I have ridden regular mountain bikes at speeds between 20 and 25mph that weren't even downhill.

When riding a Levo around the cutoff point the behavior of the motor feels like the rug is being pulled out from beneath you. It reminds me of watching a fish toying with a bobber, but I'm riding a $5k bike, kind of unbelievable that Specialized make other bikes that top out at 28mph but see fit...

Some bikes have 12V available for after market lights. If your bike has 12V out from the battery you can connect a 12V cigarrette lighter USB port adapter (~$10) from Amazon, Walmart, Target. I charge my iPhone this way while riding.

caveat: I've never seen or worked on a SwissDrive motor Perhaps the two halves are "press-fit" together, this is the case with a BionX motor. There are a few different approaches to opening BionX motors online, I used a puller like this one from Harbor Freight...

If I were in the OP's situation, the next move I would make would be to call the mfgr, BH, and see what they say about the situation. I'm not saying that would resolve this problem, but I would at least want to get their response regarding dealers who won't perform warranty work on bikes...
