    Neo Xtreme

The Neo Race is my hands down favorite of the Neo series. If you can get it for a good price, jump on it. We had a guy outfit one with some discounted Dura-ace components he found. Obviously overkill, but, oh man, was it fun to ride.

    Neo Xtreme

Gotta say, that's the first OHM that's made my mouth water.

Eddie, I agree that the Suntour fork is pretty ho hum. That said, it's still one of the better forks for that price range. Getting the 29er or 650b gets you XCR which is better, but obviously not Fox or Magura. I think you've got the right idea upgrading your fork though. The nice thing is...

    Pedego City Commuter or Alternative

My 5'5" wife could manage the step through model. She couldn't plant both feet (couldn't even come close), but that's not a problem for experienced riders. We've requested a smaller City Commuter from Pedego, but they told us they only plan on releasing a 28 inch wheel version. Hopefully...

    E-Bike Battery Care and Maintenance

Ravi, Great link and excellent observations. Addressing the battery chemistry question, I'd say pretty much all of the stuff coming from major brands is working well. You're right. There are thousands of combinations. Most of the Ebikes we've taken on are new enough that they shouldn't...

Slime, Thorn Resistant Tires and Airless Bicycle Tubes?

Ha! Let her ride it when you get it. Then you might give her the "I told you so". :) That combo should be about as good as it gets (though, again, slime is just messy in my opinion). Don't forget to regularly check your tires for debris. Lastly, I personally don't pump to the max PSI on...

Slime, Thorn Resistant Tires and Airless Bicycle Tubes?

Court, Great description and reinforces the article, which was in summary: -Cleaners and polishes are important. Read the labels for their intended use. -Sealants are a no-brainer for running tubeless. -Choose the right lube for your conditions. -Bolt grease is da bomb. -Spray aerosol products...

Slime, Thorn Resistant Tires and Airless Bicycle Tubes?

FitzChivalry, We've only used one solid tire set ever, per customer's request. It didn't turn out too well. It made for a much harsher ride and actually ruined the guys spokes. Thorn resistant tubes are a alternative to slime and liners. I forgot to mention that earlier. However, they...

    E-Bike Battery Care and Maintenance

Vern, The number one rule is never store the battery with an empty or low charge. That can destroy a new battery in no time. We see it every year. Other than that, don't sweat it too much. The first few times you ride it, it's best to run it down as much as possible, then give it a full...

    Pedego City Commuter or Alternative

As the shop in Chattanooga, just letting you guys know, we're keeping our inventory down until we finish our move to a better location. We should be all set by late Feb. At that point, you'll be able to demo most of the brands out there. -Chandlee

LOCKS - All about Ebike locks !!

Ravi, I followed the Gizmodo review and picked up a Pitbull. In hindsight I would go for something a little smaller as the base of the lock is HUGE and I prefer to wear the lock in my belt. Definitely tough though. Next time I'll probably do a Kryptonite Fahgettaboudit mini to prevent...

    Pedego City Commuter or Alternative

The 2014 Pedego Intercepter just started offering PAS and has smaller tires than the City Commuter and is still 48volt. The IZip Zuma is also very comfortable. It's 36 volt, but still very powerful. I believe it comes in a few sizes.

Slime, Thorn Resistant Tires and Airless Bicycle Tubes?

James, My ST1 Platinum had it's first flat last week. Those Big Bens are good, but not invincible. It was in the rear tire and caused by a piece of glass. I was three miles out and called for a pick up. There was no way to change the tube on site. 19mm nuts lock on the axel, so no quick...

    E-Bike Shoppers Fatigue

Scott, I thought you might want to check the Currietech dealer list: (Link Removed - No Longer Exists) Florida should have something reasonably close for a test ride. That should give you a reference point for your comparisons.

Any suggestions on the best "must-haves" for ebike accessories?

Eesh! Well, my dog is less than 40 pounds, so he's quite a bit more manageable. He will tow the bike like a sled dog and it only takes about 15 minutes to work off his energy. Sunlite released a lease that attaches low on the rear of the frame. That would probably be better for larger dogs.

    GPS Question

Garmin has several. You can order them on Amazon, along with several other brands. Personally, I recommend an app like Strava or Mapmyride for your smartphone. It's way cheaper, and actually comes with more integrated social functionally. It's great for finding new routes. Just be sure...

Big guy looking at Falcon or Neo

Titus, If you go with that large Neo Cross or Neo City, I'd recommend upgrading to the 12 amp hour battery. That should offer plenty of range for big guys. We've got a 6'7" monster of a man here that fits on those larges. I definitely agree with Court about the City Commuter. Those things...

Shipping Lithium Battery problems and Hazmat rules

USPS is generally more lenient about shipping batteries. You'll have to ship it separately from the bike though.
