Which suspension post for a comfort upright bike

Found a great article with a lot of first person experience by the writer and wanted to share with everyone here in this thread. https://www.cyclingabout.com/seatposts-overlooked-yet-critical-for-cycling-comfort/ Cheers Shaun

Which suspension post for a comfort upright bike

Quick note/update here - Cane Creek cancelled all orders of the Second Gen eeSilk posts based on quality control/testing issues with no prediction of when this model will be available again for purchase. I'm back to this thread and researching options. I believe all I want is something with a...

The elusive $1k quality E-bike... Coming this year?

With so many amazing acoustic bike choices (manufacturers and models) available in the $600-$1200 (CDN)/$500-$1000 (USD) price range - and I'm speaking brand new - your thoughts on an amazing bicycle choice for under $1K is already here and has been for the last 4-5 years. This in turn is where...

Can you name e-bikes which have this configuration? Or almost.

If you simply cannot find what you want in the OEM world of ebikes (more and more options coming out every month thankfully) then you could look into finding the exact bike you want in an acoustic model and then a conversion kit to meet your ebike requirements, within a $4K (USD I assume?)...

Are you happy with your ebike’s noise levels? E-motor, tires, shifting, etc.

So far I have 4 Bionx conversion bikes. Bionx motors were famous for silent operation even under full power/climbing/etc. With a tail wind offsetting my speed the only noise I hear is the tires rolling on the pavement - love it. I'm hopeful the new builds/motors I'm working on right now, using...

    E-bikes for heavy riders?

Great point. You will find the popular choices often come in a 27.2mm size with shims to adapt up to the 30mm and 32mm size post openings. I forgot to mention if you plan to use your suspension seat on multiple bikes, look for the smallest size as AHicks suggested and order the shims (usually...

    Running out of battery.....

Well done! I carry 5 x 557wh batteries - although they are aging Bionx batteries so I estimate I'm getting 450-500wh usable from each - and longest rides this year thus far are 140+ kms (87 miles) with 3500ft of climbs - I calculate I should be able to stretch to the full 100 miles with this...

where can i buy a light with this attachment?

Can't see into the connector for the additional details but if it's a standard connection type you might find what you want here: https://www.ebikes.ca/shop/electric-bicycle-parts/lights.html Ebikes offer this particular model that is low cost and has a round connector similar to yours...

    E-bikes for heavy riders?

100% agree. My research into full suspension for those over 225lbs (and especially 300+ lb riders) is you have to spend thousands to get a bike and setup that will handle your weight. Going with a hardtail and a seat post suspension for $150-300ish (USD) designed for weights up to 300lbs (and...

What shoes do you ride with?

Jesus! That sucks and I feel for you. I have had 3 'slow motion falls', more like 'fall over' with them - years ago - so now I only use them for when I'm riding open highways putting in mile after mile - I may be down to just one of my bikes in my fleet soon with the clips, the rest like you are...

    I need more Advise, Please......

Haha - just realized that your chosen handle can shorten to 'OP' - which is also the common term used in online forums like this for the person who started the thread we are posting within (commonly known as short form for 'Operator' and they initiated the thread so they have that title given)...

I read most the threads and believe I have seen everywhere you posted - other than making a bunch of laugh so hard our coffee comes out our noses and a few might have blushed a little - you're all fixed up and doing fine. Cheers bud

What shoes do you ride with?

You're going to love the 5 10's. I have a pair for all the reasons Stefan detailed for my bikes with flat pedals. I also have the 5 10's Pro Boa with clips for when I ride clipped in (road only now) and they are awesome for a clipped style shoe...

Any experience with EV charging network for eBikes, like evgo.com?

You have shared a ton of insight and calculations here. I'm humbled and appreciate all you have shared. My approach as I have already shared, since I'm heavy to begin with (the rider) and my bikes start out heavy (current bike is 50+ lbs of just bike before batteries, fluids, food and well - me...

Any experience with EV charging network for eBikes, like evgo.com?

You nailed it. A little more details to share. I do own a Grin Satiator 5 Amp/High Voltage unit. I wanted something that could charge all the way up to 72/84V (I believe it can go as high as 100V) and be my one 'do anything' charger for myself, for friends and my plans to possible build bikes...
