    LIve from New York

I am sure there is more to that story. The truth is, modern batteries are fairly safe and stable as long as they are not misused or damaged. I’m guessing this meltdown involved at least one of those things…

Known Issues & Problems with Aventon Products + Help, Solutions, & Fixes

I think it is in the hub. I recently watched a few YT vids related to the design / maintenance / repair of these hubs, and I recall one of the posters mentioning the speed sensor during a tear down of a hub. I'm guessing that sensor reads the wheel rotations and then feeds the controller which...

    Stupid question. Throttle only

In the purest sense, "throttle only" would be just that. No pedaling at all. Some enjoy this mode as a way of maybe not being all hot and sweaty upon arrival at work in the morning, while they enjoy the exercise of PAS on the way home at the end of the day.

    Any bee keepers?

In my younger days of frequent and often distance bike riding (maybe 12 - late teens), I never worried about wearing hi vis clothing, but since I have started wearing bright yellow shirts or outer jackets, I have found bees and other insects seem to be attracted to the color while they are out...

    Breaking down far from... anything?

I mainly ride my eBike on the road and am fortunate to live in a fairly rural area where there is a lot of good riding. Either way - on or off road - a breakdown would be no fun. My primary two concerns are flat tires and a system failure of the eDrive - battery, hub motor, controller... As...

Level brake pads - There may be an issue here - *UPDATE*

Since posting this thread, and out of fairness to Aventon, I wanted to update by saying that they now have these brake pads listed on their web store. Last I saw, they offered a metallic version and an organic version, and the organic pads were not available. I have ordered several sets of the...

Could the Aventure be a Rad Rover killer?

Congrats on the purchase. You’re about to have some fun.

    Aventon Aventure Review

I definitely think Aventon will be one to watch going forward. I am very happy with my Level. I find that most people who ask about it are quite surprised to discover it’s an eBike. The Aventure too, will be popular for sure.

Could the Aventure be a Rad Rover killer?

Of course, I just bought the new version Aventon Level, and I have been having a lot of fun with it. I then saw that this bike was released. I'm still not sure what I would have purchased though, if both were available at the time. I ride less for commuting and more for regular (none boring)...

Throttle or no throttle. That is the question

I think this part of you question answers your question in many ways. The eBike revolution is allowing so many individuals to get into - or back into - cycling, and this includes folks who are older and/or folks with prior injuries or other physical limitations. As such, the option of using a...

Useful and affordable little torque wrench

I come from an aviation maintenance background - as well as being a commercial pilot - and all but the simplest of fasteners on aircraft are torqued to spec - or should be. Also, this beam style wrench would never be used for aviation purposes, but rather, we used frequently calibrated digital...

Useful and affordable little torque wrench

Sorry. Admittedly, I am new here on the forum, and I did not search for torque wrench threads, but I thought this tool was a good deal for the price and fairly useful for certain types of bike maintenance. I also don't think there was another option like it anywhere near me same day. I literally...

Useful and affordable little torque wrench

I was doing a bit of maintenance on one of my bikes today, and I wanted to properly torque several of the little screws that I was putting back in, but the only torque wrenches I have are 3/8" and 1/2" drives, and their lowest settings are WAY above the torque specs on a lot of the little screws...

Level brake pads - There may be an issue here - *UPDATE*

And, there is no way for a consumer to buy directly from Bengal anyway. They sell to dealers. That is just info they provide on their website.

Level brake pads - There may be an issue here - *UPDATE*

It's not only a wear indicator but also what holds the pads against the housings and actuator. I am also not sure if the pad shown is the proper size either. There is no way to tell from the pic.

Level brake pads - There may be an issue here - *UPDATE*

Because I live and ride in a moderate to very hilly area, I recently reached out to Aventon in order to see if they knew of a source for the brake pads for the Bengal Ares 3 braking system. They stated that they do not have them in stock at this time, and further informed me that the pads are...

Real, real-world battery endurance - Level

Thanks Tom! I read that linked thread in full. Very useful info. It seems I am not the first to have the questions that I do. Now that I understand these voltage readings a bit more, and that they are normal, I will continue my efforts to discover this bike’s potential endurance while riding...

Real, real-world battery endurance - Level

In Post 3 above, I mentioned a recent 20 mile ride that ended with what I assume to have been an approximately 50% battery. I never had a chance due to ever changing New England weather to ride the rest of that battery to see what was actually left, but I did do another ride today with a fully...

    POLL: Speed Limit Per Level

As I near 100 miles with my Level (TOD), I use PAS 2 and ride. I find it to be the perfect assist level for the purposes of aerobic exercise in the hilly areas around where I live. On the hills, I downshift as needed in order to maintain a knee friendly cadence. The issue I am working through...
